  5. Awesome. Thanks for the tip! I was looking at this app a couple of months ago and had forgotten about it. I live in Japan and use my electronic dictionary, but with this app, maybe I can replace it entirely.

It's a great app for learning/searching Japanese. I had used Kotoba for quite a while now. Since it's free why not getting this. I'm really shocked to hear that it's free too.

As someone who has the app (and paid $10, but I'm not bitter) I can whole heartedly recommend it. It doesn't have as many words as Kotoba! but the interface is better, I think.

As for replacing your electronic dictionary, well, the whole rason I got a Touch was because I didn't wan tto pay $300 for an electronic dictionary. I don't know about Tokyo/Akihabara or any other palce, but in Okinawa, $300 is the cheapest if you want a decent one, so I figured "Hey, why not spend $300 on an iPod instead?".

Good deal. Great app, lots of words, use it all the time. But it won't replace the depth of an electronic dictionary, keep that in mind. Plus, since many words can mean one thing in English, oftentimes DOZENS of words will come up if you search, so some knowledge of Japanese is probably good, although it's geared towards English speakers I think.

But honestly, $20 is too much for it, they probably realized the Kotoba! is out there for free...But I still use this one more than Kotoba!

    Wow! Nice app!

  10. Thanks for the tip I keep seeing this at $20 and did see it for $10 but hard to recommend it for $20 when there is Kotoba for free and Eijiro is $9 consitently.

I'm gonna get off my lazy hiney as now I have almost all Japanese apps and just haven't gotten around to review them. Was waiting on a few updates and just missing only a few that I really want to give a spin. So next few days though I should have my Best Japanese iPhone Apps list complete with screenshots and everything.

Anyway here is 9 promo codes for Eijirio I was given a longtime ago but never gave out was waiting for 1.2 to finally update.

I don't speak any Japanese, so I don't think I'll really need it. But I downloaded it anyway. 
