So James Cameron's Avatar is returning to theatres with a new special edition! Apparently they haven't earned enough money yet so they are re-releaseing another version that is basically the Director's Cut.... Come on James....enough is enough.
sounds like awesome business sense to me. can't blame them for making something a lot of people would want.
The movie was riddled with mediocrity the first time, even more so when I was forced to watch it in non 3d at my friends house. Why go see it again?
Up to a certain extent, pretty visuals and lots of action with paper thin characters and plot can be really entertaining. *shrug*
Ill give it that it was pretty, thats about it. I hated the Characters (that being said, shouldn't be surprised, the male lead wasn't that great in Terminator Salvation either) and the plot was just so mind numbingly predictable. But I guess it was pretty in 3d.
I personally thought it was a great movie (saw it in 3D front row). Even though the plot is almost exactly like Pocahontas (sp?), I still enjoyed it. But watching it a second time for another $13-15? Nah.
I was NOT thrilled by this film. I would take a film with a good story over some flashy, good looking film with a crap storyline any day. Seriously, could the plot have been any lamer? I guess this is just an attempt to make MORE money.
I'll be honest...I liked this movie Because of all the special effects...not the storyline..actors...or the acting...I think I'll pass on seeing to again in the theater..though seeing it on the ultrascreen and in 3d was awesome!
Blah. Saw it. Didn't like it. Granted, it's a pretty piece of CGI-candy, but the rest was crap. Crap storyline, stilted acting -- the whole thing was just overbearing. It was like 2+ hours of OMG MAYA IS TEH BEST APP EVAR! BLUE BOOBIES!! And, yeah, some sort of plot with a bunch of made-up technical crap fanboys will argue over the validity of for years. This may cause fans to flame the hell out of me, but in the end my impression of Avatar was that, on an emotional level, it was basically Twilight for the Sci-Fi set.
Didn't see it then, won't see it now! Maybe if it were an hour and a half or two hours then I would. But 3 hours is pushing it!
