    That's a really good point actually. He could do a hammer horror style collection of stories within a single movie. 3 or 4 short stories and once the twist is revealed just hurry the f*** up and cut to black.

    Which is why I said it's like saying that, not that it's directly the same thing. There are a lot of anime series that use a standard, traditional style, that is very basic; but I've seen a fair few movies that have had standout art, still in the same style, but with a depth of detail that is just amazing (Princess Mononoke anyone?)

    Personally, I don't particularly like anime either, and it's because of the art style. But at the very least you should be able to appreciate the form for what it is, to be able to understand the appeal to it's audience.
