Ok so heres the story. My username/screenname for iTunes has always been "Kylescorpion" (the name that appears in reviews I write). Well I just looked at a couple of reviews I recently written and one I wrote last month. All of them have my first and last name on the reviews now. I don't recall changing anything to make that happen. Does anybody know how I can change it back? I write the reviews on my iPhone btw. Thanks!
Did you turn on Ping when you got iTunes 10? It's part of the new agreement: your billing name is now used for reviews and Ping, and any reviews under a nickname have retroactively changed.
Oo yes I did. Although I did that like 5 days ago and the change was last night 00 but I suppose that's a good reason. Thanks
That's a bad deal. I wonder if there's anything we can do to convince Apple that we should be able to remain mostly anonymous? Like the way Blizzard's fans forced them to change their plans to use real names.
Well, I'm glad that I read this. I have a relatively unique name, and I don't need everyone knowing who I am, where I live, etc. merely by doing a google search... I'm glad that I don't use Ping, and have no interest in it...
Oh just to confirm it was ping that changed my name. I deactivated it and all my reviews show up as "Kylescorpion" again So yeah thanks for the help and I'm glad this thread is being useful for awareness lol. =D.
