Anyone else experiencing this unusual phenomenon?

I have Automatically sync new apps unchecked, Sync Apps is checked, and I only download apps using my iPod.

I lost lots of saved data from a business app and some games, too. Restore from backup did nothing.

It's been like this since iTunes 9.

I did a search here and found no thread like this. I do remember posting something like this, but can't find it. :( Probably got deleted when I got banned from Apple discussions.

i had some issues where iTunes would mysteriously remove apps I downloaded on my iPod first. Is that what you mean? Try purchasing/downloading an app on your ipod, then syncing to see if it properly copies over purchases. I've had this problem since upgrading to iOS4.

  3. Are you the only one syncing through iTunes?

Yes. That's what I mean. It does it randomly, though. Some apps will get removed and put back on iPod, just noticed. But, any saved data is gone.

When 4.1 gets here, I will only sync with my Mac at home. Right now it's my Vista laptop. Ugh! More data loss. :(*

Are you getting this problem on a Mac?

This happened to me once, I think because some of the apps I had updated in iTunes required iOS4 and I was a 3.1.3 holdout for a looong time. One day I noticed during a sync "removing ZYX..." and went holywha?!?

Didn't mind so much except Jet Car Stunts was one of the ones iTunes decided to remove and I lost all my progress. :(

I'm using Windows XP. I have no idea what is causing this. =( Try contacting Apple Support?

    Stuck in traffic
Once or twice I'll finish a download while syncing, then find out two months later while going through my library that it never synced to my iPod. I'm more careful now though but it hasn't happened since.

Ok, running iTunes 10 and iOS 4.1. Update went smooth and didn't ask to restore this time. But, I still have apps randomly disappear, reappear and sometimes get taken out of folders. Does this whether "Automatically sync new apps" is checked or not. Maybe 4.2 will fix it...
