Ok, since my dad's credit cards are declined I bought a $15 iTunes Gift card to download a few games for my iPad. I finally got to update 30 apps, everything's good until I try to download GTA Chinatown Wars HD. It says a need a verification security code for my credit card I use, I enter it precisely as it is and it says "please enter valid security code". And I can't do anything..WTF? Can anybody help me please?
What's happening is iTunes is trying to charge $.01 to the account to make sure it can purchase something, and it's unable to do so, therefore iTunes is under the impression that there is no money in the account and then gives you that error. Call up 1-800-MY-APPLE and talk with someone from iTunes Tech Support to fix it. I have the number memorized after the numerous amounts I have called lol. But yeah I have been in the same position as you, it sucks.
Yeah sometimes it's a whole dollar they ghost charge you then it goes away. This happened to me similarly on my PS3, I tried adding my credit card and they wouldnt accept it and I had no idea why. I tried like 8 times and I went to look at the bank statement the next day and in the pending transactions there were 8 indiviual $1.00 charges to the account. lol they went away but yeah... this happens. Sucks...
Same exact problem on the 360 when buying points online, with the verification code and everything. Strangely, doesn't happen if I buy them straight off the console.
It was weird for me about the PS3 (sorry to get off the iTunes topic Slapshot) is that my card worked just fine and dandy on my 360, just not my PS3. hahaha
