I figured I'd try to install the latest version of iTunes on my laptop so that I could install some beta builds from my laptop when needed. So I did, and it worked fine. I started to sync my apps with that iTunes, and it transferred about half of my purchases, then began to sync, deleting most of the apps on my iPod. So I figured that it wasn't a huge deal, and went to my desktop to try to get the apps back.

But... iTunes wasn't even on my computer! I don't know what happened, but I checked the iTunes folder in Program Files, and it's still there along with (what I can tell) most of the files, but the .exe is gone, so there's no way to start it up. Fortunately, everyone's music, videos, and apps are still there.

So today, I tried to re-install iTunes and get everything back. It was going fine, until it hit a window where it asked for me to find "iTunes.msi". There were two of them on my computer for some reason, but neither worked.

Oh yeah, and to make matters worse, I can't even start my iPod because the battery died last night playing Fargoal, and the iPod is in recovery mode, and blackra1n isn't working because it's missing several .dll files, and it seems that every time I download one .dll, it asks for another. I've tried on both my laptop and my desktop, and nothing's working.

Anyone have any ideas about what's going on? I've checked online, but nothing's helped me so far. I'll try re-downloading iTunes installer to make sure that it wasn't a broken copy, but I'm almost positive that it's not the issue.

Not sure if it's related but whenever I try to access the app store from my iPhone, iTouch or iPad, all I get is an iTunes error saying it can't get a secure connection and I need to check my date and time settings. Checked online and loads of people are having the same problem. There is a thread about my particular problem on the Apple forums. I don't know if this iTunes screw up is related to your problem or not but there is certainly something screwed up on their side...

Nah, this is completely unrelated. I'm talking about how I can't install iTunes on my computer, not about on my iPod.

I got iTunes installed fine. I just need to install QuickTime since it strangely didn't install with iTunes, but once I do everything should be fine.
