hi can someone tell me if the usa appstore is down? thank you. I was given ( won ) a brand new gen3 64 gig i pod touch new in a unopened box with the plastic wrap still on last night at a fun raiser, was a prize you could win for putting 1.00 in the bucket at the end of the car stuff/dinner this little girl drew the number and to my surprise i won.. you see i never win anything.. ever.. this made my dad especially being disappointed with the no gen 5 ipod i was planing on buying as my gen 2 ipod was busted. granted gen 3 is outdated already.. but im hoping it will play a lot of the games still.. and hope i wont miss out on to many iphone 4s only games.. next year maybe we will get the 4s as our ipod.. and they will doa complete over haul for the iphone. that would be happy with me.. the one thing id like to see is fm transmitter, or a gps atena the ipod.. and i think it would be a perfect gadget for someone who dos enot need a phone... and with apple adding there i message to communicate between all there devices.. seems logical to at least add the gps atena. and with them updating the camera software, i can only imagine they did that so it would be taken care of for when they drop that into the ipod.. but i know the iphone is there flag ship is the touch is there so called gaming device.. which seem like such bull crap.. if that was the case they would of updated the a5 chip into it too so developers would of had a larger base to code for. one last thing, last night i was watching the keynotes.. im pretty sure steve died before that happen.. or at least they knew he would not make it through the day. when the new CE0 kept posting pictures of the spiral glass stairways and saying only apple could of done it.. was like a metaphor for jobs follow the light, the stairs are right there.. alright, sorry for a long rant.. just happy to be back with a ios device so i can start blowing money again on here.. before i vanish i was averaging 400.00 a month. laughs, quite a bit for a casual gamer than i am. cheers. hope fully the apps tore be back up son. chris.
Not down for me. Also the new ipod didn't have an a5 chip because it would have caused a shortage. With the ipad, iphone, and if there was an ipod with an a5 apple wouldn't be apple to pump out enough chips to please everybody.
I really think the Gen 3 may well be the most powerful iPod out there it's why I've never updated, it has the same chipset and ram as the 4th gen but doesn't have to deal with the extra retina stuff or things like facetime and camera services running in the background. You can play pretty much every game on the store no problem except for iPad ones of course. iTunes seems ok here also.
thanks guys, yeah it finally came back up for me i just purchased "Mage Gauntlet" time to start looking at all the games iv missed over the last 6 months or so.. at least most o them will be discounted by now. i hope the gen3 will be able to play rockstars up coming game. chris.
Oh haha sorry was thinking about the iphone... That has 512 mb. Yeah my bad ipod 4 and 3 are pretty much the same.
Yeah pretty much except for the camera and retina screen of course, I've always thought it was a waste not giving the 4th more ram I think it would make a big difference.
with the added camera's in 4.. i think ram would of helped.. def would not of hurt.. ram is not crazy expensive like it was in the early 90s.. when ram was more than gold i think.. i can remember when 32megs of ram was consider a shitload of ram.. and i can remember paying like 600.00 for the 32 megs of ram for my Pentium 166. and i even had a 8meg video card.. wooohoo this was decent box when i built it originally.. and would play any game on the market at the time.. i remember having to yank out the video card so i could install a 2meg trident video card so i could run X in linux.. yeah, back when you needed a case of beer and some luck to get linux to install with out any issues. it will be interesting to see what the ipod touch becomes.. i just watched the keynote again last night. and man what a sad keynote that was.. i think they knew steve jobs had died, or was gonna die that day/night.. reason I think this is because the ceo kept pointing to the spiral stair case like steves climbing it.. i dunno, im probably reading more into it.. but whatever. but the reason what got me wondering what apple has planed for the long term.. because they sure pimped the touch as the 1 mobile gaming devices.. etc.. but then all they did was change the color the case as the the only upgrade.. like why even bother mentioning the ipod.. shrugs. p.s this was at a old car get together. the other gifts that got raffle off were a full set of Stewart Warner classic gauges, and a gps unit. which to me odd.. since these are old car guys.. i like my hot rods from 50s.. bucket T/s, 32 coups, model A's, 40 2 ford coup.. old willies, anyhow you get the idea of the cars.. no modern muscle cars, or street machines with electric windows etc.. so just seem odd they have gadget devices for the auction. the ipod i can see cause you can hide that so no one knows you have a radio in your hotrod.. gos sorta hard to hide.. im not far enough in my build to need the gauges.. so i was happy with what i won.. best buck iv ever spent. chris. chris.
