Is iTunes 9 a HUGE step backwards for Games in the App Store?

They seem to have removed all the *sub-categories* for games in iTunes 9! I thought it was hard to find good apps before, now it will be impossible. I hope this is just a brief oversight? You may want to stick with iTunes 8.2.x for awhile longer...

There are subcategories...there is an arrow pointing down on the appstore button that if you click, gives you all the app categories. Brownie points for me :D:D:D:D:D

The subcategories are gone in the old iTunes also. It's a change in the iTunes store, not iTunes.

BTW, the new 9.0 iTunes store is nice!

The games subcategories were so full of mischategorized games that really didnt belong in that subcategory that the lists were more annoying then useful anyway. No one that reads TA regularly should need to rely on that to find good games.

The sub categories are still there.

first go to the bottom of the page and click browse then you can figure out the rest.
If you look at these pictures you will see.

It is still not as good as the old way

There's no change between the iTunes 9 vs iTunes 8 on subcategories. Every is in the same place. The Only change on itunes 9 was the interface and the design.

Maybe, the subcategories can be added on the next update of iTunes 9.1! Let's cross the fingers for that.

I like the feature about installing the icon applications to where you want on iphone. Now it's better than moving inside iphone. :D:D

Seriously...I gave up on Apple's categorization of games. They've listed the proper genres, but put games under the wrong ones. I shouldn't have to slog through page after page of those crappy text/WiFi MMOs when I'm looking for a friggin' adventure game, for instance.

No! You can't nuke that. You only have access to 10 pages of icon applications. Each page supports 16 icons.

becarefull, dont click on "x" of icon. It's the same as delete the application on iphone.

Then, let's hope they can fix it on the next update of iTunes to v9.1 by adding the subcategories on Games. I send the suggestion letter to them. I know they will read then ignore it. Don't hurt to try giving suggestion to improve the iTunes and App Store. ;)
