Yep -- there's a lot of those. But they're by no means simple block puzzles: they're multilayered, often requiring a specific item that you have to search elsewhere, sometimes involving enemies that you have to defeat using the blocks, and so on. There are other kinds of puzzles, too, and all in all it doesn't feel unbalanced to me.

    How taxing are the controls?

as I get older and my hands get worse, I'm unable to enjoy games that are really twitch based, yknow? I understand that there's no world where this will be a breeze, but the main reason I didn't pick up bit trip was due to the focus on precise and fairly challenging gameplay.

Trial and error isn't a problem, but if I have to really work my thumbs, I'm going to end up truly miserable and I don't want that with this beauty of a game

What a pleasent surprise, Ittle Dew has made it's way to the App Store. I watched William Strife's let's play as well as Elder Geek's review of the PC version. All in all it's a cute little Zelda parody that fits perfectly on mobile devices.

Well this is a surprise. So much fun! Controls are a touch wonky but overall really great!

You have the option of using tap-to-move with gestures for combat and interaction.

I decided to buy it too. I'm not big on Zelda, but it looks like a fun little game.
I just have to find the time to play it.

    This is fantastic.

Completed the main game in just under 3 hours, collecting most of the collectables, but I've since spent a good amount of time solving optional puzzles to hoover up the remaining collectables and tackling the Master Dungeon side quest.

It's a real killer and forces you to really think and use the items you have in ways you didn't realise were possible even after completing the game. I'm currently stuck
    in room 9 of 12.

There are also achievements for completing the game without each of the main items you can find. I have no idea how this is possible as I could barely manage it with all of them, but there's tons of replay value here.

On the subject of controls, the virtual d-pad is the best control scheme to use. It's not perfect but it's good enough and the alternate scheme means your hand is constantly covering half the screen. The game's combat is fairly forgiving (unlike some of its puzzles), so the controls never become an issue.

I bought this based on comments here and the TA review. Within a few minutes of playing I was totally charmed. I like the puzzles but I do wish I could skip the combat though.

By the way, am I the only one that took ages to realise the name of the game is a pun? Perhaps it's the British pronunciation of Dew (d'yew)?

Does anyone have this problem? After getting Ice Wand and beating the boss in that graveyard dungeon and come back up the surface. In the Swamp, when I enter some of the stairs that lead underground on the main map, my whole screen just went pitch black (doesn't crash and you can still see the items menu). In addition, I am unable to travel North west back to the main path that lead to Castle.....My character just stuck there. Please......Help? Already try restarting the Ipad, airplane mode, etc. I am on Ipad 4. Hope the developer will fix this bug really soon.

I'm on ipad air and I'm having the exact same problem at the exact same part of the game. The screen goes black and I get stuck if I go into a cave. I'd call it a crash, but not a hard crash because I can still pull up the menu by pressing pause. That's the only part of the controls that stay responsive. (Alternately, sometimes I can't even enter the cave... I just stand on top.) Also, I can't travel north west either... I just walk off-screen but the next screen never loads.

(I see two one-star reviews in the App Store from people having the same problem as us.)

Well, I emailed the developers about the swamp glitch.

I wish I could continue the game! It's really great.

I discovered I can walk way, way, WAY off the screen. If I check the map it shows my little icon continuing to go. Sometimes I bump into obstacles and have to go around (all unseen of course, because I'm off screen). I can even keep walking past the map itself! So on the map screen, my icon is past the border of the map itself!

It's kinda funny. And I can still walk all the way back to the screen my view never left.

So... it made me wonder. I hope it's not like on my old computer in the 80's where if I walk off the screen I'm actually walking off into system memory, destroying things as I go. That would really really suck.

I guess this is as far as I can go. It's just a smidge off the map.

Hmm, OK, I'm running into a few annoying bugs that are keeping me from progressing in the game.

All of these are within the Swamp:
1.) Same bug as the poster above, I can walk off the map in the northwest instead of progressing on towards the castle.
2.) I can't enter any of the rooms in the Swamp besides the one in the far eastwest. If I try I'm just stuck on a black screen.

Is there any way to escape the buggy Swamp? Really sad there's been no update for this yet :(
