You know I am just mocking the republican party right? It is your fault (not you in particular your nice, just saying) if you can't get a job over these guys.
I didn't answer the quiz, i know nobody with those apps. Also do you really think it os that easy to get a job at the moment? At the moment 30 year olds are going for jobs 16 year olds went for 18 months ago. Really adults saying, "get a paper route" etc. are just being ignorant. I have never seen ANYONE on a paper route. It is impossible to get jobs in smaller shops and cafes because they are all family run in London. Really the only job i can get is trimming the hedge, mowing the lawn and anything else which could be a way of sneakily talking about shaving pubic hair
I agree. I'm 16 and without a part-time job because there are very few around. Loads of my friends have none either. I do plenty work at home for money but no solid job. Stupid recession.
The economic climate still sucks right now. Lots of people are hard hit, especially in some smaller industrial towns. Sometimes there are just more people than jobs. I'm fortunate to have been in the same decently paying job for the last 4 years, especially since our particular sort of business has a tendency to get busier in poor economies. It certainly helps pay the credit card bills... But I'm not going to hold it against those who can't find work, but not for lack of trying. Mind you, I live in a large metropolis with plenty of teens and even early 20somethings who just don't give a crap and hang out at the local coffee shop in packs. There's enough work here to go around, they just don't want to work if they don't have to. Yay for absent parenting! As for crap apps -- the thing is, if people didn't consume them in such large quantities, there wouldn't be so many of them. Lots of teens are bored and far too easily amused, and that's largely the market that consumes them. It sucks for all the litter strewn about the App Store, but the market has spoken, and a significant portion of it wants crap apps.
this is the message i have been trying to convey. Right now i have to study on my collegiate work so i quit my job but am fortunate enough that i could go back anytime
I also see a bunch of kids at my school have awful apps that think they are amazing like zippo lighter or star wars lightsabers and I am like WTF why don't you play something interesting like real racing and they have no idea what I am talking about. However I have managed to convert a few of them so not all is lost.
The only sad thing about it is that the more people who download crapps the more crapps will appear in the app store. The only reason there are hundreds of fart apps is because there is a certain segment of the population that thinks farts are just so darn funny they can't get enough! And how cool is it to have a Zippo lighter on your Touch? Apparently if you are in elementary or junior high school, it's really cool! Just because the kids in your school fill their Touches with crapps doesn't mean higher quality apps aren't getting attention. Look at Bejeweled, for example. It has been in the top 25 ever since it was released a year ago. Who's buying it? Not many kids, I would guess. I really hope Apple does have a "premium games" section so I don't have to wade through all the crapps. Better yet, I'd like to see a "99-cent games" section. That way, it would easy to avoid all the crapps and cheap, mindless games.
Hey, I'm a kid (13) and I have lots of decent apps. Let me give you a list of MY gaming apps (and another boy in my class has all of these). Tap Tap 2, NIN, Dance and Coldplay. Band, Crash Kart and R. Thunder. touchPhysics, Enigmo, Spore Origins, Animatter, X-Plane Airliner, JellyCar, FerrariGT, SMB, Myst, Blocked, Toy Bot 1,2,3, Rolando 1 and 2, Magnetic Joe 1 and 2, Virtual Villagers 1 and 2, PG, Tennis 09, Flight Control, Harbour Master, Doodle Jump, Cro-Mag, Zen Bound, Topple 1 and 2, Flick NBA, Isotope, SkyBurger, SuperMarbleRoll, Diorama, Real Racing, Bounce On, Hydrotilt, Glyder, Let's Golf, MarbleBlast, Melodica, Moonlights, NFSU, RealMaze 3D, Sonic, TouchGrind and Flick Fishing. What you said is not true for all people. There is a large number, but there are exceptions.
Meh. Most of the Wiggers who own iPod Touches (not "iTouch's") do own all the stupid entertainment apps like the stupid quiz and what kind of apps out there and only have a few decent games, But I have been trying to teach my freinds the way of the "TouchArcader" since im one of the only people with a jailbroken 3G S. Its common knowledge that more then 78% of the iPod Touch users dont know that places like TouchArcade exists. As most people dont know about these places, they can only find and purchase the apps from the top 25 and featured areas. Then again Myspacers flock to How, What kind of, What is your? apps. @Firestar SMB?!?!?
Just to pitch in on the whole "teenagers need to get a job" thing: it's not that easy. I'm 16 and I live in the Sacramento area in a mostly upper middle class suburban area that has been influnced much less than the majority of places by the recession. I personally work at ahardware store. I only have a job because my dad has worked there for 20+ years and is the general manager. Even then I only work weekends. I applied to many places with about as high of credentials as a 16 year old can (volunteer work, straight A's, multiple references) and was unsuccesfull. All my friends: ditto. My only friends who have jobs are either working for their parents or a lifeguard, soccer referree, etc. So ya it ain't easy to get a job as a teenager
