You have to have a 3rd generation Ipod, or an Iphone 3gs

Only iPhone 3GS/4 and Touch 3rd Gen users can have background wallpapers at this time.

EDIT: Ahaha, didn't see that there was another page, and the question was already answered. Sorry about that.

who needs such multitasking? there is no possibility to decide which app will be minimized and which closed. now on 3gs you open several games which support this new feature, minimized and there is no more ram left, so ios will start to close apps? and which app it will close, the one you dont want to stay minimized or the one that should run in background? so you forced to exit app and then go to tasbar and close it, in order to keep some free ram for important apps. if this is so then realization of multitasking – sux.

I can't lock my orientation to landscape mode. Is anyone else having this problem?

It doesn't kill a random app. If it needs to kill an app process, it starts from the oldest app, which by that point you will probably have forgotten about already, so it's really not that big of a deal.

There should be an option to completely close an app instead of having it pause in the background every time you press the home button.

One idea would be to tap the home button to pause it in the background and hold the home button to completely close it.

I agree with this, for sure. It's kind of annoying when I go into Settings and it starts at the same page I left it on. I'm used to going into Settings and starting at the very first page.

Very minor complaint, but that would be a nice addition.. hold the Home button to completely close it. :)

I won't update yet because games will probably be slowed down on my 2nd gen itouch. Within hours of iOS 4 becoming available, cheaters had already apparently exploited the task switching and slowdown in order to wreck a number of previously believable leaderboards.

when my iPT finished restoring and the lock screen finally said "slide to unlock" it was INCREDIBLY slow. took many seconds just to scroll through pages, took forever to open the smallest apps, such as calculator. all the while it didn't appear in itunes either; suddenly it did, and then it ran fine after that. confused

Is there anyway to leave an app, using multask and come back to it, where it was before? Like in Super QuickHook, I'm playing through a level, can I pause it, then go play another game, then come back and unpause it?
