The 4.0 update made my photos & pictures blurry!! What was in my camera roll is fine, but all the pictures synced with my computer look horrible. Does anyone know what happened and how I might fix it?
My update (aside from the download) went faster than a restore. I don't think it reinstalled any of my apps. It just corrupted my pictures.
Hmm, it seems it did not automatically do any sort of restore after the installation. I just clicked sync earlier, and now it seems to be doing something ... optimizing my 1453 photos, for one. Crossing my fingers now that my pictures won't be blurry again!
There is still only the ipad version. The iphone/ipod version will probably be released at a later date/time.
so it actually does restore it completely to 4.0 and then piles the backup data back on. wow 2 minute restore from backup?
Someone said the update was 400+ MB. Will that include recapturing the space already there for 3.2? Or am i gonnna have to delete some apps just to get the upgrade (only have like 52 MB left on my 8 GB iPod Touch).
It backs up your apps and save data on your computer before installing the new update. Then it restores them after installing. You don't need any extra space, since i'm pretty sure that is covered by that missing 1gb out of the 8gb.
Check your photo library (not camera roll). My update installed fast, and my photos became blurry. But after I manually clicked sync, I'm happy to report my photos are all back to normal (and it did quite a while because I have a lot of them).
12 apps per folder was a letdown. Now I'm sitting at 5 folders, 4 of which are called "Games". Was nice to finally be able to lock your iPhone in a standing position though. Now I'm just waiting for Game Center and iBooks.
Took forever to restore my apps and music, but it finally finished. At first it was incredibly choppy and laggy (like 5 frames per second), but after powering off and back on it's running smoothly. edit: looks like the new update adds an additional 126 mb of untouchable space on your ipod. My 8gb 2nd gen is now 6.84gb instead of 7gb.
So is there any confirmation on IOS4 being a battery hog? Because as convenient as folders would be, I don't mind scrolling through the pages that much if it would significantly lower my batteries use time.
