from the screen shot, I like the art style, but it looks like using skills is going to be a huge hassle... Will it have any non combat skills, lol, used to play runescape o_O

I know its been a long time without an update...

Yes, we have put somewhat of a hold on our RPG project until we have more definitive information regarding the future of Unity within the restrictions of iOS 4. We are still excited to finish it, but since it is a larger undertaking than a 3-4 week game, we need it to make business sense.

However, we have been pretty busy working on a couple of other game projects (as you now know ). Veggie Samurai will be out anytime now, and Hamsteria will finally be seeing the light of day!

I know, I know, how come we have not been feverishly working only on the RPG?!? Several reasons really, including the one I mentioned above.

Certainly doesn't feel like "vaporware" with the work we have put into it... :p
We spliced together early prototype footage of some areas in the game:

And... still no official name yet, sorry eXistenT. ;)

Omfg it's like a wow for the iPhone.... Only smaller apple if you screw up unity on your idevices it would be the biggest business mistake you could make.

I'm hard pressed to believe we'll see a full fledged WoW like MMO on this platform. The development costs of making something like that is astonishing. If thsi does come out, I'd expect it to be more along the lines of Pocket Legends, where it is more Diablo like.

With that said, I hope wish the developer luck with this game.

On Unity, I'm still holding out hope that Apple only threw in that language to prevent developers from using that one tool that essentially ports Flash games. If Apple does indeed ban middleware like Unity, then they obviously have no clue about the gaming space, nor do they care. Some of the biggest games in this industry use middleware (think of all the Unreal Engine games, The Witcher used a Bioware developed engine etc..), and banning that clearly shows they have no clue what they are doing. Here's to hoping this is just fallout from the Flash BS.

I'd all but given up hope on this but that video really does look outstanding. I think it's said somewhere in this thread that it's built for single player play but with several online components (fingers crossed for pvp) so I wouldn't expect a full wow clone.

Looks promising... Need more video previews though. I guess I don't mind if it's not MMORPG, so long as it has a storyline (and a good one at that).

  17. looks really cool, but it has to run on all devices to be a success in my opinion

Personally I'm getting sick of hearing it needs to run on all devices. We are about to start using iphone 4 with 4x the pixels of a 3GS (which is still a very good phone) as well as the 3rd Gen Touch, But somehow people who own 1st Gen and 2nd Gen are still asking for games to run perfectly well or be compatible with theirs. I mean come on! that means games are possibly going to take a graphics hit and or your going to delay releases just so you can play on Yesteryears iphone model.
Yes I know not everyone can upgrade to each new model of Idevice but at the same time you can't expect every developer who is going to release a game that is going to be with a huge world and lots of graphics to Always support every type of iphone.

Eventually developers are going to have to say "F It, Supports 3rd Gen device + ,go out and get a job and upgrade your idevice if you want to keep up with the big boys."

Well, sorry we don't want to spend another 500$ for another device!

I thought the 4.0 update ran on all devices and that would kind of fix this problem. Its just the 3rd gen devices would run certain things that the 2nd gens cant.
