I know WoW. I spent 4 years with it, i raided with some of the best (world first spider wing clear in 40man naxx) and arena'd to gladiator S1/2.

Make sure that you don't make the mistakes blizzard makes. Balance your classes around pvp, then design PVE around that. When you balance classes around PVE, you get stuff like S3 druid/warrior 2v2 ratios.

And make sure there is a warlock/necromancer class :D

Yeah same here. Ive been playing WoW since 2006 (before any expansions) and I had my share of downfalls & Epic win changes. Im not gonna expect much from this because I see this being more of a pick up & play kinda thing. I feel the same way if PvP will be inserted in the game. Seven Swords has PvP but i feel range class is the top notch class if you wanna win most of the time. I play a warrior in Seven Swords and I get kited soo much....or maybe cause I just suck lol. But yes, balanced classes would be awsome. Ive experienced WoW content up to Ulduar but ended up quitting for important reasons but again if this game gets alot of updates & changes? Yeah dont do what blizzard do or what most MMORPG games do, Change things thats already good as it is. One question? Im still curious if the mechanics of gameplay will be similiar to WoW since its inspired from the game. Or something like RavenSword. I guess we will wait and see for its released. Or gameplay for that matter. A 10sec clip will be good enough for me lol.

Like I said earlier, a pre-alpha vid would be good. Or at least a video of how it runs. It doesnt need to look perfect or anything. I tried stalking Qauntim Squid on twitter for a hopeful exclusive update on this game but everything is all about starball codes, starball this & that. lol maybe im just mad like most people here but the anticapation is slowly dying to the point where if it does release, ill prolly be like.....ummm okay? Just my 2 cent. Other than that ill cross my fingers and maybe everyone else aswell & hope for a update than just a little response from the Devs themselves basically saying: "Sorry for our slack but wait for another 3 - 6 months more pl0x?" lol

true.. also for me, the anticipation and hype is dying. no updates for quite a while could put this game into the "forgotten" pile

Maybe it's just me but I'd rather developers spend their time focusing on making sure the game is awesome than appeasing people on forums. There's a good reason for their silence. :)

It was sarcasm (hence the *sigh*) to a stupid question someone asked which he could've gotten the answer for if he had read a page or two of this thread.

I agree. While frequent updates are nice, as a small development team it's likely hard to stay on top of things other than making a good game. Keep working, Quantum Squid!

Game is very much alive! :D

We have just been madly working.

We are dying to show more cool stuff just as much as you guys are curious to see it... We just want to make sure the timing is right. When we are ready to start showing a lot more, we want to be READY (meaning have the time) to engage the community. :)

Yes, it is a fairly ambitious project! But, we are trying our best to balance the overall scope of the game with the realities (and risks) of the iTunes app store...

What does that mean? To us, it means start out with a very solid core game mechanic (this is where a lot of the WoW inspiration plays a part), set a precedence for a beautiful looking world we can expand on (a bit of WoW here too ;)), have enough initial starting content to get players hooked (quests, gear, story, etc.), and have a solid plan for many many future additions in short order (new classes, new abilities, new multi-player co-op/pvp features, etc.). We hope to have as many hours of game play as possible, with a constant flow of loot from commons to uber rares.

Initially, will the game be close to WoW in size? Not even close. However, with deep core game mechanics and a solid engine at the foundation, the scope of the game (and hopefully the player base) will grow. Think of it like paying a small price to play through just the Borean Tundra and a dungeon instance. All of the depth and beauty of the game in general, but in smaller parts. Then, as they are completed, new “zones” (and loot) will become available.

Will there be social elements like chat, auction house, co-op instances, PvP battlegrounds, etc. in the initial release? Some yes, some no, some in various stages of progression.

One of our biggest goals is to be in a prime position to provide updates, expanded content, and added value features in a constant flow.

Ok, wow! This is more than I have said in all previous posts combined... LOL

But, we very much appreciate the continued interest, and we are working hard (with a pretty small team, mind you) to bring out a great game.

That's ambition x10 :) Just make sure your servers are able to keep up with everything [and if possible, make it so it can run smooth[ish] for people who have crappy internet connection, like me :D]

Can't wait to see the finished product..Make sure its good because there's a couple MMORPG's coming..

It remains to be seen yet how many of the "MMO" elements will be available at the initial release (as we are still in development and bound by technical limitations). However, we are building the game on a multi-player foundation and we will be trying to get in as much as we can at launch.

That being said, a significant part of the game is still "single-player", with some cool social elements added to the experience. Most of these will be optional, as a large number of the player base won't always be able (or interested) to take advantage of the network/server based game experience.

The other half of our plan does include building heavily on the "MMO" element, especially as the releases progress. Initially, this may mean "zone chat" and player trading, but ultimately it will be networked, co-op instances (for better loot, of course :)), and PvP battle fields (what's the point of decking out your char in all that uber gear, if you can't showoff).

Then, given time, money (which basically comes down to player interest), and technical limitations, the game will potentially move to a full "MMO" with massive numbers of players.

Sounds awesome! Thanks a lot for the update :) Just saw this post this morning and get the info at night :D

Hopefully you will address some of the problems such as inputting chat, maybe by including a list of phrases that could be pulled up and pressed quickly for use in co-op play? This would help a lot I think.

And the poor battery life of the device and it's impact on co-op play, what will happen if one player suddenly disconnects during a co-op experience?

I'm sure these aren't things you are willing to talk about yet but thought I would throw them out there.

I will pick this up on day one, for sure. (as long as you don't have a after 1 week sale :p )

I hope you guys shoot for a universal iPad/iPhone binary. I thing the extra real estate could be good for a game of this magnitude and an iPad MMO would really be a killer for a lot of folks!

That sounds like a smart plan, for me, although the MMO element would be cool, I could definitely wait awhile and be happy with the single player/RPG elements for awhile. As long as the MMO is in the works, I'm happy; it'll give me time to un-noobify myself ;)

The fact that you aren't making the game require WiFi to play is smart, because there's a lot of iPod Touch people who get pissed when you need WiFi to play [We Rule comes to mind] If it has a solid single player in the 1.0, I don't see why it won't gain popularity, particularly if you let everyone know MMO is in the works.
