Ok, so yesterday my itouch fell out of my pocket into the toilet, which I immediately heard and grabbed my itouch out. I shook as much water as I could out of it, and quickly put into a bowl of rice. I'll admit I did try to turn the ipod on several times later, but no success. What should I do?
Buy a new one and cry, or cry first and then buy a new one... Your choice... Water and electronics don't mix...
Best options are bowl of rice for a night with a fan over it, doesn't have to be blasting on it just a ceiling fan... Then next day dashboard of car in direct sunlight (95 deg. out or higher). If it doesn't come back after that then you better take my original advice. And remember the longer you can go without trying to turn it on the better...
1. Blame someone else( eg obama or bp) 2. Make them buy you a new one 3. Go to arbys and get a roast beef sandwich. Do exactly those three things.
Yeah, once is testing fate, multiple times is just overkill. You, my good sir, are hilarious. /sarcasm
Bury it in a bowl of rice for five days and while you are waiting don some burlap and ashes and pray to God that you didn't f*** it up by turning it on. Oh, and by the way, on day three you going to be an impatient prat and try to turn it on again. Don't say I didn't warn you.
yeah! But it will probably fall in the bath tub or pool..... I hope hhh wasnt looking at anything in paticular while near the toilet....
One more question... My warranty expired about a month ago. I've been thinking about taking it to a Genius Bar, since the litmus paper is still perfectly white. Any suggestions?
This is kind of off topic but... When a device goes underwater, does it turn itself off? Because everyone says to not try to turn it back on, but to me it seems like you would have to turn it off yourself therefore shorting the circuits. Thankfully, I have not had this happen, so I don't know what happens. Some insight would be appreciated.
I'm pretty sure mine turned itself off. The water caused the ipod to flash for a second, and then go black. I saw a little bit of water in the screen today so its sitting in the rice now... maybe I should take it to Apple?
All gone now... originally, there was barely any water inside the ipod since it was only submerged for about a second.
Don't turn it on any more. Leave it in the rice (What is the rice supposed to do anyway lol) and put it under a fan or something. Leave it for a week before turning on. Then if no luck, send to apple and say it must have short-circuited and it was nowhere near water or the loo (Which I hope you didn't use first!)
