    hey, Touch Arcade
Is it worth to buy Ipod touch 1gen nowdays? I'm not a hardcore player, but i like play from time to time.
From what i read original touch is the slowest one. Is there any big difference between Itouch 1g and other touches/iphones(excluding 3G/Gs)?
    Thanks.

PS: Sory for my baaad english. it's not my native tongue. I'm constanly learning it, but sometimes it's hard to say some things :)

I'd recommend getting the 2G. If you get the 1G, I can guarantee it'll be useful for roughly a year before games become totally unplayable on the dated hardware.

Yea +1 to what Kaz said, don't even bother with the 1G, just pay the few extra bucks and get the 2G.

Get a 2g or a 3g. 1g is getting more unplayable every time a good new app comes out.

    I beg to differ.
My 1G can handle almost any game.

But yeah I'd go with the 3G iPod Touch if you want to get one.

    ok, thanks guys.
I'll go for 2g. 3G is to expensive for me and also I don't need 32GB disk space.

Does anyone know if they are ever going to put built-in speakers into the touch in future generations? I will hate it if my hardware suddenly becomes dated, but I won't upgrade unless there are some great additions to the device. I have a 1g touch(for gaming) a 2g touch){I got it for free!} for my son playing(he is 2yrs old){and I got it for free!} and a 2g iphone for work.

True. But dude, DO NOT get the 8gig. Go for at least the 16 gig model. Because with all the pre-installed apps, you lose about 2 gigs. So even though you're buying a 16 gig, you're actually getting a 14 gig. So if you get the 8 gig, you're only g2 have around 6 gigs :/ that goes fast

??? I did not know that! The only sound that comes out is when your are typing or plugging in/accessing the device, otherwise the sound only comes through the headphones when plugged in.

For 1Gs yea, but they implemented built-in speakers in the 2G. Like, actual speakers, so you can listen to music etc without headphones. Keep in mind, they aren't spectacular speakers, since, even though Apple are freakin geniuses when it comes to revolutionizing handheld devices, they can't seem to figure out how to add better quality speakers :p

Blah! I gues the speakers are bunk on the 2g! My son keeps wanting to play on my iphone because of the built in speakers. Oh well, it was free anyways!

Thanks for the info, I just never looked into it before now :)

Well, they aren't completely bad, they work great for in-game music, I guess what I mean is they aren't very loud if you want to listen to actual music without headphones. And I'm all about loud :p Np though

nah. even though i have a iphone 3g, i use the ipod touch 1st gen for gaming more, and it handles pretty much every game pretty well. ngmoco said that eliminate would be impossible to play on the 1st gen ipod touch, but it runs just fine.....
