ok so i was a early adopter of os4. in hind sight probably should of waited if i would of known lot of apps would be broken.. live and learn... and when the next os update is released ill know better. i can remember several complaints of ios4 eating battery life. i defended the update saying i did not notice any. however, maybe this was a little premature. im having a battery life span that is very short now.. apps are just eating it like crazy. i seem to remember a lot of complaints were of gen 2 ipods ( thinking maybe there battery's were starting to go too.. ). im wondering if my battery is going. its just not holding a charge worth a dang. anyone else having issues? also how much dose it cost to replace battery if thats the issue. i always run it till it says 20% then recharge. etc chris.
iOS4 on my old 3GS used to drain like no one's business. The battery is still pretty crap on my iP4, say 5 hours in total of gaming/FaceTime/Net and calls. I don't think there is anything wrong with your battery friend, it's a well known complaint that the Apple iDevices (apart from the iPad) have a lot to be desired in the battery life department.
I had battery problems with my 2nd gen iPod Touch...then I connected it to app crashes. Something sticks (maybe a memory leak?), and whatever it is, it drains your battery. So now if an app crashes, I simply power off and power on. Battery life fixed.
so apple admitted to using the wrong code for there signal strength. do you think its possible iso4 altered the battery bars as the iphone 4 is gonna have a better battery? iv have not tried to see how long the ipod continues to stay on after i get the 20% warning. chris.
yeah iv noticed its worse with some apps than others when they crash. i use to be able to leave it on my desk all night, and when i woke... it would be where it was basically when i put there the night before.. now its always in the red.. shrugs. tonight ill charge it full.. reboot it and see what happens. guess that will tell me if its my battery i guess. probably has to test how long i can go when it reaches 20% too. chris.
I'm getting lag on my iPod 2G after JBing and enabling multitasking. I don't think it's the JB that's doing it but the multitasking itself... sometimes it won't respond for a good 5 or so seconds after I tap the screen. Might need to re-jailbreak without the multi option...
I have so many problems with my 2nd gen, I've stopped caring. The thought of a new ipod keeps me going through endless cycles of reboots and constant recharging. It's definetly JB. I was fine when I first did it, but then after a while (last month or so) I've been lagging a ton. Takes 2 seconds to exit out of an app. After I restart the lock screen lags for a while. It randomly freezes as soon as I install anything for a few minutes. I would de-jailbreak, but that's soo much work.
