If I send it to Sony to be repaired I'll have to wait 6 weeks and pay $150, so that's a last resort. I read up on the problem on youtube and it turns out that all that needs to be done is apply some thermal paste, so I'm assuming anyone with knowhow can fix it for much less. Any chain stores you know of (in the States) that fix PS3s like this?
Disassemble it. Put it back together. Stick it in a freezer for a week. It might work. It did good for my friend.
