      I have tried to find the answer to this question for a while, but with the Slingplayer app, do I need a Slingbox to use it? Or is it essentially a TV-streaming application, so I can watch TV shows on the go?

      You need a slingbox to transmit the data from your tv to it. It is useless without the slingbox.

      Which IMO doesn't make much sense, the Orb live app uses any PC enabled TV tuner to be streamed directly from the PC to the iphone, and it's more than half the cost of the Sling app, and no slingbox required...

      I have had full basic cable on my iphone for almost a year now... and it looks and runs perfectly!
