Thanks Sk8erdude and agent for the support. I appreciate it. Michael Scott you are flamed in almost every thread already so I don't need to be redundant and it will only encourage an unlikely defender
I'm sorry, but shilling just seems like a sorry attempt to make something bad look good, I know that if I saw an obvious shill I wouldn't purchase it. If you really think your app is good, just tell a couple people about it and let them try it out and if they like it they'll give it a good review.
im not trying to start anything, but this is a public thread meant for discussion, so dont tell me to f*** off. But whatever, I think shilling is one of the worst things a developer can do, and unless the game looks too good to resist, I wont buy it. I hope that many developers read this thread to see how customers are much more aware of appstore reviews now. I especially hate it when big, money-hungry companies *cough*gameloft*cough* start to do that even though they make so much profit already.
I was hoping for a dev or two to post their insight on this matter but so far no one has posted yet. So maybe this is really a grey area for them
Believe me, I will fall over and start rolling on the floor laughing, when finally a Gameloft boss shows up on TA and tells us: "Please excuse Mr Scott's behaviour, he's our floor cleaner and he really hates us because of that."
What's with this guy. He's obsessed with his hatred for the big companies. I understand not liking them, but this borders on a mental disorder.
I don't see what his problem is, I don't particularly like Gameloft games, but I don't hate the devs, they're just another company. There are millions of 'em out there in the world, plenty doing much worse things than these guys are.
Just ask Mr Scott: The main goal of all the big companies is to destroy the indie devs! He's the hero to stop them from doing that. oh, btw., can someone explain Mr Scott that nearly every development company started as an indie developer?
