I'm talking about the race from legend of zelda. I know some people might say "he's Hylian!", but really, he has pointy ears, an elf costume, blond hair, and pretty much every characteristic of an elf. Realistically, is he an elf?
No. Link is not an elf. He has different origins in different versions of the series but nothing is ever said that he is another race. One thing however, is different in the Ocarina of Time. He comes from a village in the forest comprised of children. This is also similar to the lifestyle of many elves, however it is implied that he is still Hylian, just from a strange magical sort of village deep in the woods. His ears do tend to seem more pointed than others, however, all of his features are over-implied. this is common of many main protagonists of video games. They have features that tend to stand out more than that of the general populace. This is because, they are special and unique, not to mention gifted. This is not unlike middle age heroes of legend and lore, which also bears many similarities to the epic tale at hand.
I just realized Link could be an elf even if he is Hylian. When someone is (for example) German, the are also European. Link could be a Hylian Elf! If you need clarification I'll explain it further, but it's pretty simple.
Ok... So if you are German (in this case Hylian) are you not also European (in this case an elf)? Can you not be Hylian and an elf at the same time? So if you are a German European, I'm pretty sure someone could be a Hylian Elf.
Dude, he's a video game. He's a pixelated avatar. End of topic. Don't sound like Star Wars are Star Trek nerds. Just let it go.
