Ok, I'm not proud of it, but I do play some games on Mac, even if the selection is cut so far down from Windows, but the latest game I've picked up (from the amazing steam sale) is better used with a mouse that has a proper scroll wheel and two defined sides of the mouse. It's a bit annoying playing with an awful "Magic Mouse", so I had a Microsoft mouse with me, but for the the life of me, I can't seem to find any way to pair it. Is it even possible? Or do I just hvae an incompatible mouse?

I don't know the answer to your question, but there is no shame gaming on a Mac. Mac is awesome!

I've never had a problem with USB-based Microsoft mice (mouses?) on Macs; I assume that you are dealing with a wireless one, though. I would start by looking at the Bluetooth settings in the System Preferences.
