I think they are with the whole race to the bottom environment that has been created. They need the top 100 to be sorted by pricing categories. So that devs are not forced by market forces to lower their prices. This will also give the big studios a reason to make better bigger games for the platform.
the main problem is (was) that apple gave their ok to a lot of bad apps. with bad didn`t mean programms that i didn`t like, i mean such apps like khalid published: real rip-off apps with names like idukenukem for 4,99$. that was quit similar to these ringtone publisher here in germany, where you buy one rintone and got a subscriptions about 12 month. for me, it seems, that apple just want to have a hugh numbers of apps, so they can say: hey, look, over 60.000 apps, we are the greatest. ok, khalid left the building and take the 1200 apps with him, so maybe there will be qualitycontroll now. a little one. maybe it will better in the future?!
