It depends on your play style and what you might consider fun. For example Paragon requires a lot of babysitting and micromanaging. Personally I beat the game using Taggins - I really liked his shield and strong attack. Kate in my opinion is also very solid. I actually ended beating world 1 with Kate and when I reached level 10 with her I switched to Taggins on world 2 - it seemed like a waste playing with a maxed out hero to me! As for the premium ones, I wouldn't bother as they seem over powered, except for Fate which I personally didn't enjoy as much. The Mark X (tank) seems more like a cheat than anything.
Havent tried Mark X, but i have been using Dr, Graaff and he's pretty powerful. Of the 6 characters i have he's pretty much the strongest one, with the free melee guy being the trickiest to play with. Im saying "trickiest" because with a bit of micro managing units and heroes, i've beaten Bishop and the boss there (forgot his name) with each of the 6.
Another point of view. Out of the original three I'd probably pick Kate, she's pretty bad ass & those rocket launchers help a lot in a pinch. I beat the first world with a combo of her & Fate. I got Fate with the game and shortly after saw a video of Mark X and had to have him so I splurged the cash because I don't mind being overpowered at times. Then today the sale of Sha trà & Darwin popped up and I bit like a starving fish. Again couldn't resist. Out of the premium heroes I own, Mark X clearly rises head & shoulders above all. I've beaten a lot of harder difficulties using him that I'd never beat with say, Paragon or Sha trà. Fate is def a close second though, cloaking and bomb deployment are a good combo. Darwin is lots of fun and prolly comes third once he's fully levelled. Out of the ones I don't have, Dr Graffe looks the most interesting. In my opinion I don't think the premium heroes are OP at all, they just offer different playstyles but they all die the same. Mark X is superior mainly because he can shoot as he moves, like a levelled up drop turret.
That walk-and-shoot on Mark X does sound OP. Dr. Graaff can have a similar effect with his lockon while in attack mode, but loses it when he needs to call the drones back to heal. Im just waiting on a Mark X sale, so i can make a proper comparison, but based on the review of the Mark X and my experience with Dr. Graaff, i think X will end up being straightforward and stronger overall, but DrG has a more dynamic playstyle to take advantage of his strengths and weaknesses. And yes, i like Kate most out of the free heroes. Paragon is probably the most difficult to play with. He still has the tools to finish all stages i imagine, but unless he gets a faster cooldown on his skills or some other balancing tweak, he will feel a bit inferior to most other characters.
I just fully upgraded the tech-tree, and I went from casual to normal mode but dont see any differences or it is because I am fully upgraded, could that be it dunno, the game is still great fun finished level 12 today. love the look of world 2.
Im pretty sure these picks rotate, and eventually we get a discount on individual purchases, and one that will be a bundle of everything.
they have slow attack speed and no armor, and world 2 have many small thing alway ready to swarm up sniper. Beside, engineer have heavy armor, special beam gun for building and giant enemy with constant high dmg, shoot like a ranger and grenade sniper is great for camping and defense mission
nope, because the main core gameplay now is RTS, require micro and control hero, man squad at once, so there is no time player rest for those stuff
Do you mean like stopping a windmill, catching a fish or squashing an animal type stuff like KR? If so, it has a bit of that stuff connected to achievements like 'pop 10 galactic octopuses' which don't affect gameplay.
It does. But as Anarchy mentioned above, nothing to do woth actual gameplay. Still, they are good little addons that you get rewarded with (in both tech bits and cons) in the goals/achievements section.
Team 17 Achievement Does anyone know how to get the Team 17 achievement? I have no idea what they are talking about with the worm or the holy hand grenades. Anyone know?
Spoiler There's a worm (from the Worms game) near the upper right area of the map, who throws a grenade when you tap him. He will then hide to reload, and get back out ready for your tap to let him throw the grenade again.
It frustrates me that there is literally no benefit to doing this, other than a vague inner sense of satisfaction. The lack of any scaled rewards wrt tech points / cash, or any system of stars / acknowledgment of difficulty level, really strips out the joy of both harder difficulties and of replays for me.
I'm on the 2nd planet on impossible difficulty. I didnt know how much I would like the game considering how different it is from their previous titles, but Its really pulled me in. The gameplay is hard yet rewarding.
