I tried this game tonight. It's a pretty solid platformer with some chasing and bomb placing thrown in. Movement of the character is through touch swiping and bombs are placed left or right by the on screen buttons. Graphics are minimal yet still pretty cool. No IAP that I've seen. It does have GameCenter leaderboards though. https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/iron-frost/id578139929?mt=8 Iron Frost NIKOLAY KORNEYCHUK You are Iron Fröst and you must to activate all the bombs and reach up the next level avoiding guards who try to catch y… $3.99 Buy Now Watch Media DetailsYou are Iron Fröst and you must to activate all the bombs and reach up the next level avoiding guards who try to catch you. You can freeze blocks into floor near your location to temporarily trap guards and may safety walk atop them. Also breaking frozen blocks you can reach some bombs. Over time, frozen blocks will regenerate. A trapped guard who cannot escape immediately respawning at the top of the level. Floor may also contain trap doors, through which men will fall, and solid blocks, which you cannot freeze. The faster you go the better, because over time your score is reduced and for zeroing begin to explode these bombs that you have activated. If you was dropped down, or if you stayed in regenerated block, or activated bomb exploded - bonus will be reduced. It's nice this is one of the rare games I try because it looked cool to me and its actually decent enough to recommend to others. In my time with it so far, no Ads either. So a lot of pluses right off the bat. Had to deinstall/install again. But nice to watch and to play. But there should be no problem because the default language is English. I just tried it in the hope there would be German inside. Even the other controls are strange. Oh well. Needed six attempts to pass level #3. Try to figure out and read the tutorial. It's fun and not so difficult. Watch the self-running game in the menu screen for a while. Spoiler Switch all the "parking meters" from green to red. Then a special highlighted chain will appear at the top where you should climb up to solve the level. You'll be rewarded with a fine destructive animation. Spoiler Mines are time-limited. Lay some mines/bombs on different terrains and watch how the ground behaves. You can always jump down from bridges that look like horizontal ladders. There are blue tiles where you can't put mines. You'll always fall through red tiles. To reach certain parkometers put a mine in the platform above, make a hole (time-limited as well) and jump down. They are working fine here on iPad 4. For me the default controls are okay but there are five alternatives in the options and "run always with multi freeze" or "run till touch with single freeze". ;-) Love the atmosphere and the animated clockwork background. After solving the puzzles try to beat your time. Good AI of the enemies btw. nightc1 Well-Known Member Oct 19, 2012 4,362 0 0 AL #9 nightc1, Jan 15, 2013 Yeah that got to me too. I love all the gears spinning and stuff. In many ways the game reminds me of Donkey Kong & Donkey Kong Jr... though more in level designs and stuff. Maybe a little N+ mixed in too... but not for the abilities of the main character but just the way each level is a puzzle and you have to trigger all the crosshair looking things (I take it we're placing bombs on the targets). I did burrow through the menu today and after the first 50 levels there is an option to IAP another 50 level pack. So, it has IAP, but I don't purchase IAP so the first 50 levels will have to be enough. Also for anyone having issues with what to do in the game just start it up and then touch anywhere in the game play area of the screen and you'll get to see it demo a bunch of levels. Just watch the dude in the black suit. nightc1 Well-Known Member Oct 19, 2012 4,362 0 0 AL #10 nightc1, Feb 11, 2013 Free again. It had an update hit tonight. I'm downloading it now and can post about it if anyone is interested. Which means ad banners were added. So toss this onto the flaming poo pile that is also known as "the appstore". nightc1 Well-Known Member Oct 19, 2012 4,362 0 0 AL #12 nightc1, Feb 11, 2013 I played it last night. No add banners. Just 1 ad when I started the game. But yeah this one gets nuked because the update locks out the first 50 levels. So all you get is one user level and the level editor. Talk about bait and switch. If you got this before, don't update. For all of Apple's insanely strict rules for apps and developers, the crap they allow to happen never ceases to amaze me. But then, as long as they're still making money, right? Oddly, it's back to normal. I think my save was corrupted or I was just being stupid and it was just user error. Either way I take it back, the game is good and it's worth downloading. You get the initial 50 levels, 10 no enemy levels, 80 user levels, 1 user level that you can edit to your hearts content, a basic tutorial, a game center leaderboard. Overall, plenty of content. The only IAP is for the second set of 50 regular levels and the level editor which eliminates the ads but the ads are not bad. It's like one per time you power on with the game running. So, Sorry about the confusion. The game is definitely worth playing. It's got a wicked art style. I posted a review requesting the dev to release a non-IAP&ad version with everything in the game. I'd pay for that, no question. (You must log in or sign up to post here.) Show Ignored Content Share This Page Tweet Your name or email address: Password: Forgot your password? Stay logged in
