Universal Iron Force - (by Chillingo)

Patrick, what's up? Am I not worthy of a response?

Another question for you:

When I select my Lynx in my garage, the stats say: Armor: 800, Attack: 150, Movement: 62.0 kmh, Fire Speed 9.2 rpm

When I select either Pattern or Decal for this tank and I go to NONE my tank's stats are shown as follows:

Armor: 971, Attack: 198, Movement: 73.0 kmh, Fire Speed: 10.3 rpm

Now, if I don't add a decal or a pattern, my stats should be the same as in the garage, or not? How come they are elevated? Is this a bug?

*** Edit *** Figured it out. The stats shown in the garage are the basic stats of every Tank. When looking under patterns or decals, my upgraded stats are shown.

It would be nice to receiva a response to my posts.

@Alpha-One - you were able to accurately point out the key flaws in the game as it is. Exactly my thoughts all along, in clear words.

@Patrick/Chillingo - Let me start by saying that I love(d?) this game, been playing it for over a month now, and discovered this forum only today. I wouldn't have complained unless I wanted this game to continue being enjoyable as it first was.

Also, I can understand why the implicit (explicit?) claims about being greedy can definitely scare away, but reading the posts here, I don't think you could find more valuable feedback than this (especially not in the AppStore user ratings, where everyone just write couple of random letters so they could get the fuel).

My first fun-ruining issue started (or dramatically increased, to be precise) since the 8-tanks in one battlefield came in place - the game is too laggy to be enjoyable anymore. Either fix that or bring back 6 tanks, else you are shooting yourself in the foot.

Also, no one here mentioned that there IS some sort of leveling being done while your rivals are being picked. Problem is that it is apparently based on the user's rank, so higher ranks fight together. This is not the right discriminator IMO, especially as one climbs up the ranks. In addition, the one shot killer tanks ruin the fun for everyone, and even if these people actually payed this kind of money to buy so many diamonds, soon they'll have only themselves to play with. Again, the foot...

Last point is the game built-in chat.
Obviously, the logic behinds the selection of chat participants is based on location. Since I live in Israel, I am always surrounded by hostile chatters, and the chat becomes the garbage can of the middle east. Recently, most of the Israelis has abandoned the chat (or the game?), but I would like to ask you to reconsider the way you gather the chatters into one chat room.

 

Wow this is tough on noobs

Like the game not sure if I want to buy the farm. Agree with others about the one hit wonders of the far and near east, definitely have an advantage. I played one game and continually fired at a scorpius and when he decided to pay attention me it was all over. I think I hit him 6 or 7 times and barely put a chink in his armor.

Splitting up some of the challenges sure would make this more enjoyable.

 

Yes as a noob to the game I can say unequivocally that the match ups are really unfair. As a new player you are trying to find your way around and what do you run into, persons with faster tanks that only need one shot to kill you. I've got the URSA tank not the greatest yet I thought a builder yet at level 5 across the board I'm still killed with one shot. Makes a person wonder whether this is a good long time player game versus, drop a few coin and move on.

 

My resolution to the one-shot killer tanks

Every time I start a game, and recognize a one-shot tank in the game - I exit the game.
Mostly because it's ruining the fun, but if more will do so, soon these super tanks will have only the avengerbot to practice on. And since Patrick is oddly quiet here, I'm sure he wouldn't mind

Fix It

I've been playing this game for about a month now... Very fun until you reach a certain rank. If you don't "tank up" to match your rank you will be in for a disappointment. As the previous poster indicated, the battles are mismatched as they are based upon Rank as opposed to Tank. I have reached L. Colonel and the game is virtually unplayable with a Corvus tank (all that I am willing to use). Super tanks dominate 1 out of 10 battles and are no match for my tank.

Chillingo could easily fix this in their programming. If their intent is to force players to buy more diamonds at this point ...then this player is done. I would think a large majority of players will not fork over the $99 to $250 in order to level the playing field. Obviously there seems to be many that will.

The fix I am proposing would not affect your profit or ROI on this game and would make it enjoyable for everyone. IMO

I've gone from playing 30/40 matches a day to practically none

I just log on start the game have a look at who I'm up against and nine times out of 10 quit straight away, there's no point being cannon fodda for other peoples amusement

For me a game isn't a game unless everyone has an equal chance to win, that really has to be the absolute fundamental basis of a game, everyone has a chance, these miss matches are a joke, I personally shot one tank 30 times and it didn't die, he shot me once 5 times and killed me first shot every time, I ask you what's the point

I understand how these apps work, they give you a taste of success until you get into it then intentionally make it so you keep facing superior opponents so you have to spend money money money, really I'm just sick and tired of these companies pretending to bring something to the market for players when really it's just a financial con

They need to have the facility to just play the AI bots, at least they could keep these guys matched at each players level, that way you can always find a fair match and when you feel like it you can try against the big guys

It's a fun and addicting game, however the math is ALL wrong!!! Decals and skins claim a 35% increase in damage, but only add 35 pts to damage stats (just as an example). The one shot kills from a scorpius shouldn't be possible! Are you trying to tell me that a scorpius can do over 1000 pts of damage in a single shot?! This is not fair, especially to new players. Fix the calculations please.
On top of these issues is one that really needs to be dug into. There are ways to hack the software to add as much money and diamonds as you wish... While honest players like myself are stuck earning them and buying them. Please dig into this and get rid of the law breakers!

I used to give a shit, but after about a month of playing Iron Force I don't. In most cases I exit the game pretty quickly. All it takes is one of the numerous oneshot killers and that's it. You can't even show your face before it's over, and I've had it with these idiots who're only into Iron Force to ruin the gaming experience for the rest of us. I've earned my points the honest way, but it doesn't matter if you max out your tank (in my case an Aquila), you're still reduced to cannon fodder before you can blink.

The other thing that completely ruins the whole thing is all the lag and generally how bad the servers are working. All of a sudden all of the tanks stop and a few seconds later the connection dies. Either that or you're constantly being "teleported" to a new location and you don't even know where you are.

It's a pity really because I really liked the game at first. But Chillinco's inability (or unwillingness) to fix the game and get rid of all the cheaters has made me realize I don't want to waste another second on Iron Force.

 

Why is it that any game that looks fun to play must have freakin IAPs? Why can't a developer charge a premium price for a good game instead? I will continue to boycott IAPs cash cows - I know I may be in the minority but just want you to know there are others like myself that would willingly cash up to own complete game- no I'm not asking for a .99 cent giveaway either

If more people complain to Apple there is a good chance Apple will act and force chillingo to pick up their act
