Read elsewhere that people are losing their progress with the new update. Is that happening to anyone here? Afraid to update but also can't play without it.
Is this a pay 2 win game where it's almost impossible to progress without constantly throwing money at it and are there pesky timers and ads that hinder gameplay In other words is this one of those horrible f2p games where the developers do not care about the player enjoying the game but how much money it can get out of the player? I only ask because I don't usually play f2p games but this game looks really cool and I don't mind giving money to developers for fun quality games but I would like to have a set price point I buys of games for my Ipad every week I have bought hundreds of premium games and payed up to $25 for some mobile games So you see I have no problem dishing out money for good games but I can't see myself constantly paying money for a game that just wants to drain my pockets and not show any return
IAPs can help obviously but this is not pay to win IMO. You can't just buy the best weapons. You have to get them through loot and crafting type elements (reinforce, embue shards, etc.). To me this game is much more skill based (and a little luck with getting the right loot). You get a good amount of the various currencies as well just from daily bonuses and various achievements. It's pretty generous. So, no, you don't have to "drain your pockets" to play this. I've bought IAPs mostly to support the dev for an excellent game. And highly encourage others to do the same.
On the table: Apple TV, Steam, VR Regarding Apple TV this is something we would like to know more about. Did you know that we can't purchase Apple TV here in Seoul yet? Or that is what I understand. Production would love a chance to fiddle around with it. Perhaps after the dust settles a bit.
Save up if you can. You will use them for bone shards and to remove imbued mystical skill shards. If you play on autopilot you will use gems on that as well. Do your daily challenges, get attendance rewards, and use autopilot strategically. If that happens, you will never have to pay in this game. 96 percent of our players are playing well and having fun without purchasing. The rest of our players have purchased but most look like they aren't using it that much. Ire has very, very frugal and strategic users.
This has to do with DB load. The incoming traffic is rising quickly and we are preparing for another maintenance session. We didn't expect people to download hardcore action RPGs, honestly, as much as they are now. If you look from country to country, it may not look like much, but if you add by country to country it does stack. We are trying to scale out as fast and soon as possible. Right now you should be able to have your progress. If something happens, plz send an email to [email protected]
Oh, you already answered this. Thank you very much. Allow me to give a shout out to Sky and Boatz on Discord. They aren't paid moderators from an agency or anything. Just been with the game since soft launch and they have an amazing community going. They are very aware of how the game works, and send us email all the time, as well as talk with our Facebook moderators. The Discord and Facebook group are all made and maintained by our early game fans. We really, really appreciate their support. We don't know how to move forward with this. For example, hire an outside consultant or agency? For the moment we'll take what we can get in terms of support until we can figure out what to do. But, if you have time plz check them out! Thank you. Ire Discord Group Chat: https://discord.gg/NumcB7D
Thnx, we'll get better at live ops as soon as we can. Right now it's a rough start, but a good one, and we're working like crazy.
This game is really growing on me, been playing it a lot. Have another question: what is the effect of gaining a level for your character?
Become stronger. Enter different game modes. Enter different levels of the Rift. Also dialogue is slightly different every other difficulty level - but it's light. We tried to keep it light as possible. Narrative and stuff is all in there somewhere in some items, names, design, concepts etc.
Question about the Rifthound, it seems sort of like endgame content in the sense that it's hard to get into it and you need a party of three to tackle it. It is also a lot of fun to do, but what I don't get why the reward is so low. the Rift Shards give you very bad value on the Black Market and the items that the Rift Hound drops, even the blue variant don't look that special. In ~20 runs I havent received anything of value anyway, seems like I'm better off with killing bosses.
The Rift takes some getting used to. Equipment selection for the fight (incl. mystical skill shards, accessories) is quite important here, and is supposed to be part of the fun - like Monster Hunter. Actually, it is important everywhere. Equipment drops are rare for sure. The Shadow Soldier has a chance to drop a wicked dual wield (Poison + Wind damage). The Faint have a chance to drop armor. In any case, the Rift is a challenging place of battle. More enemies will be added to this place. As for the Black Market... well, that's why it's called a black market. But sometimes there will be something that you absolutely want or need there.
Finally finished the campaign on normal! Great stuff. Will be interesting to see how much harder a NG+ is. Would love this engine to be used to develop a full blown, open-world story-based RPG.
Don't you think that should be different though? Rift shards are one of the hardest obtainable currencies but you can't really get anything for it. Just as an example, for 20 rift shards (10 runs) I can get 66 Bone shards, a single entry already costs 30 bone shards. Another 250 rift shards gets you three (3!!!) B level armor shards, how can that ever be a good deal.
No, I believe it should not be different. Not everything will be fair and correlate equally, pound for pound... Measure for Measure. I think... We aren't offering you a good "deal" to anything. We are not wont to provide pleasure, nor immediate gratification, at every corner. That would be... boring, for us as well. And that is particularly not what we had in mind for the black market. If we did that then it wouldn't be a black market at all! Investopedia states that... "The black market's many drawbacks include the risk of fraud, the possibility of violence, being saddled with counterfeit goods or adulterated products (which is especially dangerous in the case of medications), and the fact that the buyer has no recourse." Hold on to your rift shards. Sell them. Or perhaps stay away from the Rift and the Black Market all together? But, if you check on the black market from time to time, something is bound to be worth your while. Anyway... Let the devil be sometime honoured for his burning throne.
Surely there's a huge difference between completely useless and immediate gratification. How is it possible that logging on for 7 days in a row: -30k gold -100 gems -30 B armor shards -30 B weapon shards -200 bone shards Provides so much more value than beating rift bosses 10 times a day - 3 rift shards*10*7 = 210 rift shards almost 2B Armor shards - will cost about 200 bone shards for entering the rift every day You're not rewarding skill or effort with your current policy. It's your game and it's actually very enjoyable, but I really do believe there's a big design flaw there.
Firstly, thnx. We still have a lot more to do and bring in more points of enjoyment. Working like crazy on development as we are all supporting live ops simultaneously - it's a bit surreal. Secondly, black markets in general are flawed, and come from a flawed world, so I can't reject your statement, because our black market is as flawed as flawed can be, which is how it was going to be. I don't know how else to better explain. I've yet to meet a game that actuall has something right out there, plain to see, as shady and diabolic. We do enhouse evil - definitely not role models.
