I think it needs to be mentioned too that Ire is also a great substitute for Monster Hunter, as it does share some elements as well, maybe even more than the Dark Souls titles. Cutting enemy parts, using parts as materials for equips, the attack patterns, etc.

But overall Ire has its own style and signature to tell it apart from these other games, which makes this a really enjoyable action RPG.

  2. I think you need to reread what he wrote. He plainly states that it was a point to attract a publisher. At the point that fell through they couldn't just shift scope,,, they were in several man hours and dollars. They also have said MULTIPLE times that if they can invest into it, they will.

FANTASTIC GAME, mwryu. The update only heightened the experience and hope it gets the play and accolades it deserves.

    mwryu,

Since no one else has responded, have any tips on how to get past 5-11? Nice twist in the level but cannot get close to passing it.

Sure thing. You need to keep Aker alive. So basically need to bait Dainn. There are a couple of cheats, but I can't tell you what, but they are there. You don't want to call any boons in this fight. Anyway, need to choose to kill your corrupt friend, Dainn. Or is it you that is corrupt?

Thanks. I've been trying to bait Dainn but it's not easy and the auto targeting makes it hard to stop yourself from attacking Aker. Hope this didn't spoil anything for anyone, but the idea of trying to save one boss half way after you've been attacking it is clever. Just frustrating after that.

That actually brings up a question. I don't think there's a setting anywhere to turn off auto targeting. Is that something that maybe could be added in an update? Or at least a way to manually switch targets?

So I suppose this won't run on an iPad Air 2 with 8.1? It tries to start but shuts down instantly. The older version worked for me quite well.
    Thx

I think you need to reread what he wrote. The dev's response was mostly about not wanting to be compared to a AAA console game which I totally understand, my response was that you don't need a AAA budget to make a good mobile game so they shouldn't be too scared of not meeting expectations. In regard to my question about online though, the only thing he said was:

Which I said I understand, but you can have online social features without making your game online-only. I have not read all 40 something pages of this thread so if he addressed the point already then that's my fault, please direct me to the post. I'm not attacking the dev or anything, I'm just curious as to why the game needs to be online-only. Is it actually easier to implement an online system than just storing everything locally? Is it to prevent cheating? Are anti-cheat checks easier to implement online rather than locally? Is it because the game was always planned as a multiplayer-only thing? I just wanted to know in a bit more detail, game development is interesting.

The topmost right-hand button (I think it's orange) is used to control auto-targetting.
Tap it to change the target you are auto-targetted to, and hold it to disable auto-target (tap it again to re-enable).
Disabling it is very useful for running away from an enemy!

This game is amazing - such an incredible improvement over the original.
The original was outstanding, but this one is a little easier to get into, thanks to the hugely improved UI.
Some things are still rather obscure, but a bit of experimentation is helpful...

The game contains invasions by other player characters (much like Dark Souls, though they are AI-controlled in Ire). This alone requires the game to be online-only.

Other reasons for online-only are no doubt tied to anti-piracy/cheat etc.

Much like Dark Souls and its offline NPC invasions, that doesn't sound like it needs online-only to work. It's fine, I guess they just designed the game around asynchronous PvP and I'll just assume that's the reason. Though I understand the concerns, always-online anti cheat/piracy just rub me the wrong way as a former android user where apps for both platforms would only put intrusive DRM in the android version, so I was just wondering if that's also a big concern on iOS.

Awesome game, even though I never played Dark Souls, I very much appreciate what's going on.

All the currencies and options are a bit dazzling though, I played through the tutorial but I still have no real clue what I should be using my currencies on.

There were some problems with iOS 8. We will be discontinuing iOS 8 in the near future. The latest couple of patches were to find means to troubleshoot that and Game Center. Not because we want to... but I don't know if it's been said, but it feels like support for iOS 8 is being deprecated. Unsure if this is official. If you are developing a game, make sure to launch it a few months before a major OS update... or a year before. Or else your mind and emotions will feel like venturing into a minefield LOL

    Customisation:
Limited to equipment: weapons, armour, attributes are customisable... and that will take a long time to fine-tune as a player. You won't feel it until you feel it. The difficulty level will hit hard around the second level of game difficulty.

    Female character:
As for female characters, we didn't have the time nor resources to work on it. We have 2 3d modellers in-house, and one works on the environs and one works on the characters, and share work on many other resources. There wasn't going to be a way to automate female character armour. Oh, and we have 1 animator and 1 illustrator. Welcome to our graphics team! We did think about just using the current Champion's modelling as a base for a female character, which we thought would be an elegant solution... like... do you know Sarah Strong in Adventure Time? But that was the same deal in terms of having to make new assets and needing resources -- it wouldn't shave time or resources off anything.

    Ranged weapons:
    Not at this time...

!@#$ Going into crisis management mode and for extended maintenance. Please accept my sincerest of apologies. Very sorry to cause confusion and any inconvenience on behalf of the devs.

Looks like I missed a couple of pages talking about reasons behind some of the stuff that we did. Some were development issues, others were more HR and livelihood issues (so our shoestring budget would be much compared to others, for example), some business, and many due to not knowing what we didn't know. Talking about development is fun, though I come from the non-programming part of production. I think this is the only place where I have received questions about production, which is cool and scary at the same time. I've been in the industry a little over a decade now and I'm still learning new things everyday. Sometimes at the discomfort and anger of the user, which I feel really bad about, but something we try to indemnify (is this the right word?) the best way we know how. As you can see, we are making a lot of mistakes during the service, this extended maintenance being just a small part of it. But... It was either this or selling our production to a Nexon, or a NCsoft, or a Netmarble, or a Tencent, or whatever company that would have us made into Cybermen. So there is a long story in that as well, but for another time. I should go back to my team. Will check back in when I can!

    Think my question was missed..

Can anyone help me with giving me an idea what to use currency on? The options are a bit dazzling. Should I save up at the start? Should I immediately start upgrading? Imbueing? Break down weapons/armor or sell it?
