I always wanted to get into the previous game, but that arbitrary online-only requirement is a big turn off. Shame they kept it in this second game.
One big component of this game is the ability to invade other people and vice versa as well as use of their characters to bring in to fight along the side of you. So it would be a huge thing to take that out. And in harder levels, you'll want help from outsiders (not live but in bringing their skill sets as someone to fight with you). It's not like other online games that do so for advertising and all that crap. Think of it as similar to Dark Souls in the way it integrates online. It's not arbitrary online just for the sake of it. It'a a core part of the game.
So I'm on chapter 5-11 and am having trouble getting past it. Spoiler [Am I correct in understanding that you need to kill Diinn (sp?) before he kills the other boss? Would have no trouble killing both of them but saving the first boss is rough.
Everyone thnx for the feedback. It should be MFi compatible. Just turn on your controller. Okay, going back to handling all the emails on bugs and suggestions. Will stop by again when I can. Again, thnx. And plz try Discord. Members there summarise feedback and send email to us when they have enought material to send.
Still love the game but the online only was a big reason I quit the original version and not sure I'll get past that unfortunately. It's a gorgeous well made game for sure.
A standalone version is on our projects list but TBD at this time. We haven't forgotten about you Ty. Thanks for your YT post for our previous version. It meant a lot to the developers.
I do love your game alot! I will try to make some videos on the new version. I was looking forward very much to this game being re-released and so far I love the changes. If there was a stand alone offline version I'd scoop it up in a heart beat. I'd pay $20 or more for that easy! Also add record and stream capabilities using replay kit to this game! Unless I missed that Maybe?
Great! My bad, then. I generally go into settings first thing, and check for a controller config option. Usually, unless there is one, MFI support doesn't exist.
The Powershell from Logitech works like a charm! It's one button short but that's fine and for some reason every battle starts on auto-walk or something. Other than that, perfect!
Has anyone here gotten past 5-11? Seriously stuck as previously posted. It's an interesting twist for a mission but failing miserably.
That's exactly my point though. None of the Souls games require an internet connection to play the game. I'm playing Bloodborne right now for my first time entirely offline to get a pure experience, if it's such a core part of the game then why is it completely optional? They are amazing singleplayer games first and foremost and multiplayer games second. I'm just a little disappointed that a game that seems so dedicated to keeping the hardcore spirit of Souls games on mobile seemed to miss that point. Invasions and co-op summons in a mobile game sounds like a cool feature, but as the Souls games show nothing about that feature screams "absolute requirement to play the game" to me. You still fight NPCs as the main enemy after all. It's just a shame that I'm hesitant to put too much investment into arbitrarily online-only games after some bad experiences, and I'm really skeptical of any game that has an online-only requirement without a good reason behind it.
I am very sorry to hear that. But let me be clear on a few things. Ire isn't Dark Souls or Bloodborne. DaS and Bloodborne... That's just on a completely different level. We just really, really wanted to bring aspects of that into the mobile realm. We really did. Started in 2014 with 8ppl and USD 200k. But to make something that complete? ... Maybe as we grow, if gamers gave us a chance, and the market found us palatable. However, we don't have that capacity yet. We hope to. Anyway, that would take more than a couple of years for just 14 people to make on a shoestring budget, not to mention excluding having access to top-tier marketing assets, a mass following, etc. Also, Seoul is not a very start-up friendly environment, especially to game companies. Tying online with the narrative -- and there is a story in there -- was, frankly, partially a business decision as well -- of course, not the only reason. We needed to have at least some element of social features or no one was going to fund or publish us. The irony is that we ended up not being able to land a publisher and having to do things by ourselves. I have to go back and monitor the game with my team, do CS -- lots of emails and messages. I would talk more, but can't at this time. Hope you guys understand. I'm sorry if we disappointed your expectations about this game or any dark fantasy hardcore action role-playing game. The truth of the matter is we just aren't there yet. But we would really like the chance to take a crack at it. Thanks.
So how do I get some blue weapons / armor? Do I have to spend money if so on what? I see players with them but I never get good drops. Am I supposed to be enhancing greens to blue somehow is that possible?
Apple TV? Wow this looks amazing! Any chance you'll be bringing this to Apple TV as well? I see it supports controllers already and you don't have to support the Siri remote any more!
I'm not saying I expect any mobile game to be of comparable quality to any console Souls game, that's not what I mean at all. Let me put it some things into perspective to help you understand where I'm coming from. Many years ago I played a game on my iPod touch called Dragon Slasher. Have a quick look at the screenshots. It uses silhouette graphics, it's 2D, you could count the frames of animation of most creatures on one hand. It could've been made in flash, THAT is a shoestring budget. It is also the best Souls game I've played on mobile. The game is a homage to Demon's Souls in the most obvious way (NPCs are near identical and found in the same themed worlds). It achieves this through punishing gameplay, levels that encourage exploration and slow and methodical combat- even without a stamina system. AND it doesn't have a single multiplayer component at all. What I mean by bringing this up is, you don't need any budget or marketing to make a Souls-like game that would satisfy a crudgy old hardcore gamer like me, and I'm sure the gameplay of your game is completely fine. Now that said, I also understand the mobile gaming market has changed. Social and online elements are a must-have in games nowadays. I still don't see why this game needs to always have an internet connection. Like, is there a specific reason why the game does not have an "offline mode" of any sort? I don't think this is an unreasonable request. I recently played a frankly kinda crappy Chinese game that's freemium, has a user account and login, has a VIP system, gacha unlocks, etc, and it still lets you play the game offline. Hell, I've played mobile MOBAs(which BY DEFINITION ARE MULTIPLAYER ONLINE) that STILL have some sort of offline function (in those cases it lets you have practice matches with unlocked heroes but you don't gain any progress while offline). Yes you game probably does need social and online elements to be competitive in the current market, but is that doesn't mean it can't also have some sort of offline gameplay to compliment that. I actually don't know, is there a specific reason why? To summarize in short, I understand and respect you as up-and-coming developers. I still would like to know why your game needs an internet connection and why it doesn't have an offline mode before I'm willing to get really invested in it. That's my main concern, not because I'm comparing it to any console game. I've had bad experiences with online-only games having connections issues, servers closing down, relying on online services which don't work, updates that ruin the game, etc, so I'm usually kinda hesitant to put any long term commitment to such apps.
