Wow, that was awesome! Just battled through 2-4 (2 greater faliche) on "bargaining" difficulty. I summoned a boon (that was quite a few levels below me), and then began to fight the first faliche boss. That's when the invader appeared (similar in level to me). The 2nd faliche boss joined in, just in time for my lethal attack to destroy the first one. By now, 2 ordinary faliches had joined the fight, then the invader killed my boon (always a bad thing). I killed the 2 ordinary faliches, but then had the invader and the remaining boss faliche chasing me. Oh the tension! My health was down to around 25%, and I had already used my health potion earlier in the fight. I ran for it, turned to face both of them (making sure they were both lined up), and hit the lethal attack button. The 3 seconds as it charged up were *so* tense... they both attacked, but were both killed by lethal attack before their strikes could hit! Phew! I know all of that sounds very dramatic, but I'm having such a good time with this game, that I just had to share it.
@poppichicken That's great! I'm really very happy to hear that. We have a lot more waiting for people in a couple of months. If you are a PC/consoler, Dark Souls 3 is hitting the shelves tomorrow, so we all have that to look forward to. Some people are calling us Mobile Souls, and I'm hoping that will stick, but we are nowhere close to living up to that name. But we are going to give it our best. In the meantime, I'm just going to upload a screencap of a feature we're prototyping right now, which I hope we will have tweaked to make it into a 2017 update.
Wow that screenshot looks awesome! Not just the monster and the scenery, but how much more polished the controls look. Very nice. Oh yes, I actually upgraded my vid card so that dark souls 3 would run nicely on it. Got DS3 pre-loaded... tomorrow can't come soon enough! I'm not sure if you're allowed to reveal this (and I hope it's ok that I ask), but I'm wondering, is Ire making enough money to keep your team going? The reason I ask is that I (selfishly) want your team to be successful, to bring us more Ire goodness! (And yes, I have spent money on the game - it's so worth it!).
@poppichicken Appreciate it! Just something we're fiddling with. We've found that it's not an easy set-up to accomplish right away because of camera work, controls, and user interface, and also because we have a lot of other key elements we need to check off our list (for example, migrating to Unity5 and stuff). So, let me answer your question. I think we're pretty open to this. My admin and devs might scream at me if they found out, but they never come into this forum, sooo... And, I'm sure other devs would be interested in it as well. Q: Is Ire making enough money to keep your team going? A: No. Hahahahahahahahaha But, we hadn't expected people to spend a lot on digital goods for this installment of v1.xx. We are grateful for the purchases that have been made thus far (thnx, poppichicken, and all that have contributed in sales), but our focus was mostly on making the game better. I know it may sound counter-intuitive, but we really feel that a better gaming experience comes first. And all things considered, we've only spent USD 2mil since we first kicked off the project in 2014 (a fraction of what other big companies use in comparison considering project scope). We are now figuring out how to implement the IAP business model and better merchandising that will be suitable for Ire. As for the upcoming IAPs, I really am not sure how players are going to take it, but we'll just roll with the punches. All in all, I project we will have spent close to USD 4mil by our update (i.e. cinematic intro, marketing, translations, outsourcing, etc.) More importantly, for us, the game has to be kickass, and there has to be a lot of players, but the genre and game are pretty niche. Only a fraction of a percentage of users are going to be purchasing IAPs, which will float our operations, and the updates for all other players. But the game has to be good. And we should keep updating our game, making it smoother, better. Our goal right now is to become a studio that users look at and feel that they can trust, in our ability to keep good things coming. We're still learning right now, so again, we don't expect high revenue at this point. When we update Ire to v2.0, hopefully. lolz Believe me when I say that this mindset has caused us to hit a snag when talking to potential investors. But, I'm not going to worry myself with people like that. Hope that sort of answered your question. Cheers!
I wonder if you add at least one ranged weapon into the game (bow/crossbow) or it does not really fit into the dark souls theme?
@mwryu Wow, that's a lot more info than I expected. Thanks for your candidness and honesty. I sincerely wish your team all the best; it's a rough world out there in mobile-land. This game is an extremely rare and shiny diamond, and deserves *much* more success. The unfortunate fact is that integrity is usually crushed under the weight of monetisation on the app store (understandable, as developers need to eat too!), so it's amazing to read of how your team is conducting development of Ire. Much respect to you all. Oh by the way, my in-game name is Ervin (currently level 34). Anyone of a similar level wanna add me as a boon?
Love your candidness, wish this made more for you all. Its a fantastic experience. Hope only the best.
@Kenan2000 We prototyped a ranged weapon in 2014 during early development. I'm not sure when, how, or if this will be implemented. I'm sure someone at Tenbirds (dev name) is dreaming about it. Personally, I'd love to see some mage and archer action. That'd be cool. I'll remind the dev.
@poppichicken @brothamannp11911 Massive thanks. Ever since Ire was posted to this board, I have felt comfortable with this forum/community. My feeling is that many people in the TA forums (or in this thread) are sophisticated users, and very knowledgeable about the industry and development matters in general -- BSing would be a mistake. Tenbirds doesn't have an open devlog on any site, and most of us can't write or speak in English anyway, so I feel that here is a good outlet. At times I wish we had the capacity to have a devlog, or our own cool official forum that we maintain, but we just don't have that capability yet. Even our "official" Facebook Page is handled by close acquaintances or some people interested in Ire, though we usually get the final say. The domestic (i.e. Korean) forum (a.k.a. Naver Cafe) in Korea we don't even own -- totally moderated by Korean gamers. Someone did set up an English forum, but it's the same story. I'm sure that if professionals saw how all of the outlets were being managed that they would have a fit. I'm sure that some PR managers would do a face palm if they saw my posts. Anyway, it's not difficult being transparent or open at this stage. I just hope I can keep it up. Anyway, one of our hopes is to have standalone spinoffs of Ire. That would be sooo sweet.
Ire: the platform rather than Ire: the game. That's one of the more exciting gaming prospects for iOS. Like, ever.
That's awesome. We all appreciate when a dev comes here to talk to us and take part in discussions or answer questions. I've always loved your game. It's a damn great game. Billy
I'm sorry. It's a load of crap. You guys really do deserve to be successful. You have a really great game. I'm an old school gamer so for me a game is more than just its graphics. This game has it all. From the art style to the actual gameplay it's just a fun and intense experience. That's why I spent money in your game. Plus I really like your dev team. I'd give my money to you guys over some huge mega company anyday. Whatever you decide to do all I ask is you leave options for every type of player so you can make everyone happy and make money from everyone. I will always spend money on permanent options like permanent ad disablement or currency doublers or if there ha to be energy timers a single purchase to disable it. That's the type of purchaser I am. In games I like or if I like the dev team I will spend up to $20. Sometimes maybe a bit more. Again I'm old school so I truly believe a dev should be paid for my entertainment. Especially when they make a great product. Billy
Game Center seems to have pretty much killed my ability to play this game. Was going to delete it temporarily but can't remember -- this does have cloud saving back to their servers right? So I would be able to start out where I was if I delete it?
@anthony78 Yes. But, if there is a problem send to support at 10birds dot com. We're aware of the Game Center issue. It's been alerted to Apple as well. Still trying to get a fix for this.

Wait what? We won't even be able to play at all? I'm not liking that. If it's a day or two. Ok. But you shouldn't completely cut off playing until the day of the complete migration. Billy
