Yesterday my iPod randomly told me to plug it in to iTunes (wouldn't let me do anything else, just showed the "plug into iTunes screen" that you get when you first purchase an iPod) and it turns out everything was fine, but it renamed itself back to "iPod Touch."

Then, when I tried syncing apps, nothing would sync onto my iPod so I had to restore it.

And now for some reason, today my iPod started randomly turning off while I was playing games. I would be playing a game and then the screen would turn black. However, if I just tapped the power button the screen would show the Apple logo and then it'd turn on again. Any idea why this happened? Help?

It happened to me once, while I was listening to the music in the bus. No particular reason.

    water?

It could be water damage. I got a bit of water once into my Ipod Touch 2g and now it's all glitchy. It would wake up randomly from sleep, and if I had the speakers on it would randomly sleep while I'm playing a game (this doesn't happen if I have headphones plugged in). It would also randomly pause while playing videos or say that I have headphones plugged in when I don't.

That MIGHT be the case... I've never gotten water in my iPod but it's been close to a lot of steam before, which may of gotten into it...

Any other ideas, people? The help is appreciated!

Mine has been going to sleep at times...not during operation, but usually after sitting idle for a bit. I figured it had something to do with the new OS, but I really have no idea.

Seems like Jobs is using more than just the omission of multi-tasking to entice his consumers to purchase a newer device these days.

Well... I'm on OS 3.1.3, so any ideas there? Or could it be something else?

Funny how all those Time Capsules just started dying days after their 18 month warranty expired...

I really don't have a clue. I think you should bring it in to the nearest Apple Store.

Weird, it stopped after I posted this thread and deleted a free game I'd downloaded in the morning. I guess it was the app?

    Australia, mate!
Your battery is stuffed. Even when the battery is low, the icon still shows it as being full.
