I'm looking for extra thickness so I like the DLO Jam Jacket, although its 20 bucks and the Belkin Ergo is only 10.

Will iPod touch 2nd gen cases fit iPod touch 3rd gens?

I saw the belkin at best buy today and it for sure isn't adding the thickness on the ends like the DLO. The DLO just makes it so nice to hold (I have long fingers).

I'd buy the DLO for the $20 in a heartbeat. I think I have a picture of the DLO on my comp that I posted on MR. I'll go check in a bit.

I didn't have the picture i thought i had - so i did this one real quick. My 3rd gen is the neked one, the 2nd gen is in the DLO. I added a penny to the picture for size reference.... and really, i should go take it with a real camera! LOL!!

I'm not a big eBay fan, it's a personal problem i guess! LOL!!

Thanks for the Amazon link - i'd just checked to see if they had any.

I have taken the time to express my displeasure to Otterbox, and have decided that i'm not going to hunt one down at this point. I just think it stinks - i was often recommending it to parents as the case that made the Touch ok to buy for the kids. I personally think they bowed out of the Touch market sooner than they should have. I can assume it was sales based - but the sheer number of Touches i know that were bought just this CHristmas says that the younger market is just coming into it's prime.

ANYWAY.... the DLO is working for the kids for now. HOping to add a 3rd one to the house in a few weeks - and it will need a kid proof case in a big way. I might have to eat my words and hunt one down....

That's too bad. BTW, that amazon verison, There's only one left for 22 bucks and the other is like 80 which i know you wouldn't get. I would buy now if you want it.

I also just checked the otterbox site and i see what you mean... their not making any cases for the touch. Sucks to you, but it just proves that the iphone owns the touch if the company is willing to do that ;)

i have question. i use a leather case for my touch. it has a flap on it that i flip up sorta like a star trek communicator. it protects the screen. iv notice a lot of these do not have flaps to protect the screen. as anyone had a problem with screen getting trashed? the only thing i dis like about my case is playing games the flap that covers the screen you have to fold it behind and makes it so uncomfortably.. iv learn to deal with it. but am considering a new case if screen is tougher than im thinking. iv read some of you guys just throw your ipod in your back pack, no problems?

I have an invisibleshield on the screen and back, with the DLO Gamejacket around that, then I carry it on my hip in a padded camera case (which is just big enough to hold a set of headphones and a backup battery pack.)

Never had a problem with the screen getting scratched, but I'm really careful with my toy.

I use McAlly Metro rubber case. It has well-made, comfortable case with rubber anti-slide and anti-sweat furrows.
For me, the best case so far - as much for gamers as for casual usage.

im thinking a case that has a top that slides off would be ideal for my needs.

The iPod screen is amazingly durable. That being said I would never throw mine in my back pack, but my back pack has a padded pocket made for mp3 players so I put it in there if its the only thing in there. Also, I put a clear protective cover on my screen the day I bought it and would never leave home without one of those. You can get them super cheap on Amazon and they don't sacrifice any responsiveness on the touch screen.

On another note, I finally got the DLO Jam Jacket Game

    http://www.amazon.com/DLO-Jam-Jacket-Game-Touch/dp/B0028ISJ32/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1264520542&sr=8-1

I love the extra thickness is adds, and the mega thick ends are excellent for racing games. Also, there is a little space between the edges of the screen and where the case starts, which to me is essential for gaming as lots of bottoms and joysticks are right on the edge of the screen. The only problem I have is that it doesn't add much grip. I find it sliding off my hands if I don't hold it tightly.

For this reason I may go for the Belkin Ergo.

Can someone comment on this case a little more? Looks like it adds some thickness. Looks like it has excellent grip. Does the case go right to the edge of the screen or is there a little breathing room?:)

I have Belkin Ergo cases without the strip.
There is a little breathing room, ca. 1,5 milimeters on the bottom and 2 mm on the left and right side.

It adds a little thickness to give the firm grip where the ribs are wider, and is thinner in the middle of the case.
