Ever since i got my ipod touch 4g i've only been able to successfully connect to 1 free wifi area. Every time i've tried to join a wifi network it will say i'm connected and show my connection strength when i'm at the springboard but if i try and load anything that requires internet it just loads forever and then says "Check your connection". Could some wifi networks not work for an Ipod touch 4g? Because i know some of the wifi networks i tried were titles as setup for a sound system or some other electronic device. So why won't my ipod touch 4g connect and how do i get it too?

I can't remember i just know it had the words setup and sound in it. It works fine on my home linksys wifi but when i found another linksys wifi somewhere else it would say i'm connected but wouldn't connect. A couple others it had this same problem with were ****guest (****=random place i was at) and again it showed 2 and 3 bar connection but wouldn't load anything.

That happened to me at McDonalds when I connected but haden't registered my device with the staff. I didn't bother registering, it was too much effort.

Its most likely the iDevice as it does not have as strong wifi connectivity as other computers etc. It should usually work though, some wifi networks are restricted to outsiders and wont work

So it's normal? All the networks say their open and i dont need a password to connect with them if thats what you mean.

If this happens to you more than 20% of the networks than its not normal. If occasionally it doesnt work, its fine.
