Anyone else have a werid issue where if you play a graphically intensive game the ipod gets really warm to the touch? find that a little odd and is it supposed to do this? and if i should call apple about it? cause it cant be good for the internals to get that warm as it could melt components....

I'm pretty sure that the heating issue is universal across all the iPod Touch generations; I know it happens to my 3rd Gen. That's what happens when you're essentially running console-quality (last-gen, at least) games on a system that doesn't have a fan. :p

Don't get too worried about it. If you start to notice it, it's probably a good time to take a break. But unless you allow it to maintain that temperature for an extended period of time, your device likely will not be damaged internally.

it´s in the design, it´s ok. The iPod 2G also get quite like `hand warm´ but works since years now.
The 4G has never gotten as hot as the 2G

If it gets too hot to hold it will be a problem - like 100-120 DEG Celcius. I think at this temperature components start do desolder ;)

    He's not talking about hand-warm.

He's talking about disconcertingly hot. Happens to me too

My iTouch 4 gets hot too, not really hot but noticeably, I guess is normal due to the power of the Apple A4.

I've never noticed this. Maybe I don't feel it due to my case?

I only feel it after an hour session of like... Eternal Legacy, Infinity Blade, MC2, or NOVA2. I don't even really feel it while playing Aralon or anything.

My iPhone 4 never gets hot, not even noticeably warmer. But I remember my original iPhone sometimes got pretty damn hot when it was running some of the more advanced 3D games.

this is an excellent idea, especially if you're playing Lost Planet, so you feel what they feel, well the cold anyways.
