      hmmmmm....its been on the charger via usb port for a good 6 hours and still shows the battery it never stops charging? could this be a bad battery?

      any thing else i can check?

      I would unplug and reboot, then try. Or just wait sometimes I'll wake up and my phone will still be charging, just give a few mins.

      ? i dont have a jail broken device didnt want to on my 32gb touch 4

      reboot, do a hard reset. located on settings, reset all settings
