when i turn my touch off (clicking the hold button, not the "slide to power off" thing), after a couple of hours, i try to turn it on but instead, it shows its battery is dead... what could be the problem? could i fix that?

hitting the hold button still allows thing to run. If it is jailbroken or you click it in a game/app not designed to stop when the ipod is put to "sleep" it can still be using enough processing power to drain the battery. I know this is MUCH more likely to happen when you use a jailbroken device due to the added background services you can install.

Basically, the ipod/iphone will always use some power unless you turn it off. If it's not jailbroken you can prevent this by quitting the app you are running.

I'm not a developer, so someone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong on the exact behavior of the lock button. I am positive that it still allows things to run though.
