Okay, so I was installing the newest software update for my iPod when my computer froze on me. I had to shut it off, and when I tried to turn my iPod back on it gave me the "Connect to iTunes" image. I connected it, and it told me my iPod is in recovery mode, and I need to RESTORE it to connect to iTunes. *Insert the angriest image here* I definitely want ANY other option than doing this. I've gotten ridiculously far on games like Stoneloops and Gangstar, and will probably never end up playing them over if I have to restore them.
Oh I've tried. Over a dozen times. If only Apple's backup system wasn't so lousy, I might have been able to fully back it up. My newest backup is back in August. **** **** **** **** **** ****.
I refuse to restore the damn thing until I find out if there's an alternative to saving it. I don't look forward to going and redownloading all of the apps and songs either. Do you all have a Mac?
So, nobody has any tips on how to get your iPod out of recovery mode without restoring? Not even you, eggz? You'll get a big hearty "GOD BLESS YOU" from The Bat Outta Hell
mine backs up games in about half an hour. Yeah apples system does suck. So I found an app like fishy and wanted it, but it wouldnt show up in my ipod's app store. So i had to go buy it from my computer. When I got itI was trying to sync the game onto my ipod but it kept saying that it would delete nine apps that I bought from my ipod if I synced it. Then i tried putting these apps in my library of apps but it wouldnt let me. So I get incredibly angry. Like seething rage angry. I dont know how 9 apps being deleted made me so angry. Then Itunes went into "is not responding" mode twice. Next it told me that the game I wanted to download doesnt work for my ipod... seething rage doesnt quite do justice to how I felt then.
Nothing I suppose I can ask Apple for help, but I doubt they can say much other than to just restore it. *Sigh*...
You should have done backups automatically. Wastes some time but it's worth it for situations like these.
Hey, same thing happened to me, but I got a fix. It involved downloading quickpwn and letting it do something for a second, lemme go get the full instructions. =P
Yeah, try just holding down the power and home button, it should be a hard reset, but shouldn't restore it or anything like that. I'm running Windows
