I don't think it's necessarily gonna beat the DS, but I think it'll sell better than the regular PSP's have so far. The big deal with the Go isn't the hardware, but the PSN Store. They've basically tapped into Apple's plan with the way users can purchase games with such great ease. We all know how easy it is to overspend on the App Store, and the reason for that is because all of these games are only a couple of taps away. With the Go doing the same thing I expect their game sales are gonna shoot up.
I've made this point before and I'll make it again; No digital store for a gaming device will ever rival the app store. (Even if it does have quality control XD)
I have all 3 however, my ds doesn't get any attention because it sucks. PSP i play games like Brotherhood of the Blade (similar to diablo). Games coming to the iphone like Ravensword has never been attempted on the psp (huge sandbox like oblivion game) so im thinking that my iPhone will take the place of my psp altogther. I do play ps1 games on it though sometimes.
Bangai-O Spirits is the only DS game anyone needs I would have bought the DS for that game alone. I'd probably cry with happiness if it came to iPhone.
i heard flight control is coming to the DSI thats one point itouch dominataes both psp better than ds wait til the Minus store come out!!
Really, people are going to compare specifications despite it being known that directly comparing specifications doesn't reveal much at all due to the different working of each architecture? Not to mention that much of the specs for iPhone is used up for stuff other than gaming (like a PC). Directly comparing specs gets you nowhere.
ok i think everyshould stop comparing "iPhones" to handheld games compare an itouch instead iPhone is a cell phone
I would suggest you (and others) actually look up the titles available for the DS, instead of just ignorantly assuming. The DS is host to numerous titles spanning many genres, and for many ages.
Hardware comparisons are pointless not because on the iPhone it's "used up for stuff other than gaming" (the PSP does more than gaming, too), but because hardware has little to do with the nature of the games on either platform. It's all about money: how much can be invested on game development and what are the expected returns. As long as PSP (or DSi) games can sell for $30+, while people go ape-sh*t about a $9.99 RPG on the iPlatform, the gaming portables will always have bigger and more expensively produced games. Of course, "bigger and more expensively produced" does not necessarily mean "better." Which is why this thread, and all platform vs. platform discussions are so utterly pointless: fun is not something that can be objectively measured, and it's certainly not bundled exclusively with any specific platform.
Do any of you guys honestly believe that the iPhone will ever get a game of the quality of something like this: I'm curious
