So I've got a bit of a tricky query, I hope someone can help. I have an iPhone 4, got it last September, obviously full of save data. Got an iPad 2 on launch day. During setup I restored the iPad from the latest iPhone backup because I didn't have many iPad games or apps and wanted to see what some of my favourite apps played like on iPad 2 with my save data intact. So everything seemed fine after that, except now, I have this feeling that my PC thinks my iPad and iPhone are one and the same. When I download iPhone apps they always seem to sync to my iPad, and when I choose videos to sync onto my iPad they always seem to sync to my iPhone which I don't want. I basically want the content on both devices to be mutually exclusive, with maybe some universal apps being shared. Is this because I restored from back-up, or does every 'Multi-iOS device' user experience the same thing?
I'll probably end up having to do that yeah, but is this the case that everyone who has both an iPhone/iPod touch and an iPad has to either put up with crossover sync or just manage manually?
I do'nt check the 'manually manage' option for my iphone and ipad, they sync separately but I didn't restore either device from a backup of the other
Well then perhaps that's why you haven't the need to explore that option. Of course I'm in the same boat as I never restored my iPad from my phone backup either. But it's worth a shot I suppose.
Cheers, I had an idea it should be like that! My phone is jail broken, so I guess it will be easiest to pull all the save data from and set up as a new iPhone. It's going to be a long day...
