iPhone? I quote Tourettes Guy on this one. "**** THE PHONE!" I have a cellphone separate from my iPod Touch and find it better that way. I do wish it had more battery power, and I can't imagine it lasting as a phone.
Same. My year old Touch is drained at the end of each day and I don't even play it that heavily. My cell lasts for 3 days without needing to be charged, though.
This is what happens to me, everyday. I blame AT&T more than the iPhone, but I also had them as my carrier before the iPhone and I've never experienced such bad reception sincing buying this a year ago. Other than that, I love it.
Basically most of the cool things about the iphone you can get with the ipod touch. Im very happy with my Palm Pre as my cellphone, flicking around between my email, SMS and the internet is really really useful and i just like the OS more.
After having an iPhone for 2 years, I support the quote above. I'm so much better off with my new iPod Touch.
Dude my cell lasts for weeks! Probably cause no one ever calls me I charge that thing less than I change the batteries in my TV remote.
Maybe you watch too much TV Battery life is a valid concern. I have a Mophie Juice Pack Air (charger/case), an APC charger, and a car charger.. Lot of accessories needed to keep it juiced but it's something I've learned to get used to, and to me the pros outweigh the cons heavily. I don't experience calls being dropped in my area. Sometimes I believe calls do not go through/don't ring/go straight to vmail... but I tend to place the blame with ATT more than the device itself. I think the article was exaggerating a bit. I'm jailbroken so running apps in the background is no problemo- Backgrounder and Kirikae take care of that very nicely. Didn't work so well on iPhone 3g because limited memory but with the 3GS I literally have had Real Racing and DOOM Resurrection running in the background while I was surfing Safari.
