Recently I had to send my iPhone into Apple to get a replacement, but right before I sent it in I updated it. The update included a more accurate reading for the battery. I never really used this update until I got the replacement phone. I've heard that replacement iPhone could possibly have some refurbished parts, but it seems like my battery doesn't last as long as before. Could this just be because the reading is more accurate, or do you think I have a faulty replacement phone? If so, should I contact Apple? Thanks in advance.
Apple's in house policy is to make you happy, as long as they can verify your issue they will usually replace. I've gotten numerouse 3g s units replaced because of pixle annomalies and some with inaccurate gps chips. All replacements were warranted because of the issues were verified. They even replaced a blutooth my girlfriends dog chew to bits!! If you go in for battery issues the'll ask if you restored, newest firmware blah blah...then they will hook it up to a labmac via USB and give it a diagnostic test. Usually this test will report that the unit is just fine, and they'll probably suggest running the battery all the way down then charging it full and have a nice day. However of your like me and know iPhones inside and out then you know that your device isn't working proporly and you want more than just a answer given to people who just bought the device as a status simble. To get a replacment I suggest telling them how much batttery life you've gotten before versus how much your getting now. Explain to them that all of your network settings and average usage are the exact same because they will definatly try to suggest turning of 3g, wif etc your case is simply that your not experiencing the same usage as you had before despite what the dianostic reported I've had to go this route and As long as I was clear and articulate in every detail they knew that there was no way I would be in the store for the 6th time if my device wasn't functioning the way it was supposed to, cause I proved to them that I knew the difference. That's my suggestion to you. Be polite, direct, thourogh & you'll be rewarded with satisfaction.
Thank you! i've decided to call when i get a chance (soon, of course) just to make sure every things good.
