Is it just me or does this thing have TERRIBLE battery, I've read online and it seems everyone is having this problem. I don't mind charging it every night, but I know that it can't be good for the phone.

I've done everything people have recommended like off most of the features, but it still drains crazy fast, I have some friends that have 4's and their battery is awesome. Anyway any help would be grateful, thanks.

I think I heard Apple was working on an update to fix it. Don't quote me on that though.

Do you know if your friends with iPhone 4's have upgraded to the latest firmware yet? That's what causes all the issues. If they're still rockin' 4.3.5 on their devices, that would be why their battery life is so good.

So if 5.x.x is causing the problem, would there be a way for me to downgrade to 4.x.x?

    (it came preloaded with 5)

Jailbreaking. But you'll have to live without Siri.

Battery is really the main reason I want the Galaxy Note, it is a bit ironic the iPhone 4s is having these problems as I can remember at the Apple Keynote bragging about how it had been vastly improved.

On a more relevent note IOS 5 actually seems to have boosted my battery so I don't know if going back would do you any good although I do think IOS 5 has way to many bugs by far.

Edit: After thinking about it I'd advise you to definitely not try to use an IOS 4x version I'm doubting there is any support for the 4S in it. I could be wrong of course but it seems likely to fail or cause you further problems.

Alright thanks guy, I'll just have to wait for 5.1 and hope the issue gets fixed by then.

Mine is horrible. Im talking, it was dead by 3pm yesterday (some gaming tho).

I wonder if using iMessage ALL day kills it? Seems my wife's 4 is now draining quicker than before and that's the only thing she does different.

Coming from my previous android phone, the iPhone battery life is great.

That said, I don't really game when I'm out/in school/etc., so battery life isn't really an issue when facebook, twitter, texting and web surfing is a majority of the usage outside of my home.

There are some very useful macrumors threads about this, check the tips out in those.

Yea I'm getting slightly ticked that I've got to put my charger on after only 30 mins of play on a few games. I've done all the tips/tricks to try and lower the extra usage of the battery but its of no use.
