Oh, totally. I remember, like, this one time, I was at, like, a party, and this girl, like, had the exact same colored phone as me, like same model and everything, and like, I was soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo embarrassed.
One thing I don't like on the white is how the small outer edge of the screen is more noticeable than black. Bugs me there is a black edge around the screen.
I went with black for my wife and white for me with the 3GS. But this time I'm going all black. The steel trim around the sides stands out more with the black, something you didn't have to worry about with the 3G and 3GS because the only silver trim was around the front bezel, which was black on both models. Now the whole thing is white and the trim just gets lost. The black iPhone 4 just looks better.
I keep going back and forth. To me, the black looks a lot sleeker than the white... but I know the fingerprints and scratches will be 20x more visible on the black and that kind of stuff drives me absolutely batsh*t. If they had made the white phone with a black front, I would choose that one in a heartbeat, but I'm really not crazy about the white front (it looks a little cheap in my opinion) I might have to go along with loves2spoon and just flip a coin on the 15th
I do, but for some reason black and silver stand out to me as more "Apple" than white. And since there's no completely stainless steel iPhone . . .
I would have jumped on a metallic grey color if it was offered. The black border around the display on the white really bugs me... arrrghhhh
well the iPhone 4 has the glass plate with the back as well. "Fingerprint-resistant oleophobic coating on front and back." straight from the apple website. if it is anything like the ipad screen... oil, fingerprints, and dirt will rub right off. i am still so indecisive though O_O i can't decide either!
Now you mention it, I'd love it if Apple designed an iPhone with an all metal casing. Like brushed aluminium or steel. Or even an iPhone with a polished hardwood casing would be nice (although it doesn't really fit in with Apple's "Green" image). And yeah, the black border around the display on the white is pretty annoying now that I've noticed it. I think I'll go with the black option.
I had a black 3GS but sold it and it would show dust, fingerprints and scratches more so than white. Though the white on the other hand of my mates showed grime and dirt more easily.
why doesnt apple create iphones with more colors, other than black and white?? i'd really like to see a red, blue, grey or stainless series
Looks like reports are coming in that at&t may not have the white @ launch.. Looks like my decision is black! I'll be buying one the minute the site opens up... it's gonna be a long night!
