well so far they have a tradition of unveiling a new one at wwdc. they have been working on this for a while but i would probably expect a new iphone/itouch at wwdc. guess i'll have to live without multitasking until then...
My Dad won't pay for my "toy"because of several reasons: 1) Paying the mortgage bills, and etc. adds up a LOT 2) Paying over $20,000 for my brother's college and over $400 for his room is a lot. Plus, he has to save up for my college. 3) Has the risk of getting fired due to his company merging with another. I didn't want to bring my personal financial issues into this, but I guess I had to. My Dad's trying to spend little money now. And as I just said, 14 year olds are unable to get a job from where I live.
i guess we will all have to wait...urgh you apple!! Worst part is its almost time for all my apps to refresh the UDID list, and i dont want to have to wait a year to test
If the 2nd gen iPad comes out in fall, I'm going to laugh hysterically. Wonder how the fanboys will defend that one.
They will defend it with some ridiculous story and that it is the best product ever (for another year)
I wasn't questioning you father's financial situation. In fact, I applaud him for not just giving it to you. I hate it when I go work for something just to find that everyone and their dog got the upgraded version along with a $bajillion iTunes Gift Card for Christmas, their birthday, or Lief Erickson Day. A person should work for their stuff, not just expect their parents to get it for them. And in regards to the whole job thing, I'm sure that if you looked for one around your neighborhood you could find work. Washing windows, babysitting, lawn-mowing, or other things like that are a great way to earn quick cash. If it's none of my damn business, quit putting the information on a globally accessed network. Then it'll be your own damn business.
While I understand where your coming from, let's tone it down a bit before you earn a timeout or get banned. Note that a timeout here does not involve duct tape and a dark room...although I'm sure it can be arranged. Lief Ericson day?? Wow, learn something new everyday...
I think people are allowed to bitch about a decision they don't agree with without people like you making comments about being poor or harassing them about a job situation.
My Dad buys me things because well.... he's my Dad and loves to see me happy. And he doesn't spoil me. For 2.5 years I've had the 1st gen iPod Touch and nothing else. No video games, no laptop, a shared computer, and no TV. Many kids I know (friends) have video games, laptops, personal computers, and even some have their own TV. Since I was doing well in school, my Dad rewarded me with a PS3. I finally was able to play video games (BTW, Call of Duty is the SHIT!). However, he says the iPad or a new iPod Touch is too expensive for us, especially after buying a PS3. And I don't feel comfortable knocking on people's doors and asking them for money and in return providing a service. What if I don't do such a good job, or its not up to their standards? I'm afraid I'd disappoint. Something like babysitting would work for me, however I can't find anyone to babysit.
About the upgrade thing and money My dad works hard for his money but in the US the economy is horrible. I dont ask my dad for any money and never had (well maybe when I was a child). Yes it is hard for 10-15 year olds to make money, but there are ways and i found them. I bought my DS when I was 13, mowed lawns. I bought my iPod touch with money working for 5 dollars an hour on a nearby farm. So Im saying its hard for "kids" to make money, but there are ways. And you dont need to upgrades i can live with out multitasking
I appreciate your warning. I'm just sick and tired of whenever someone says they don't want a new product or complains about a something that might require an upgrade, the wolves come out and starting attacking them for being poor or lazy. It's wrong and widespread around here.
