I am experiencing an issue with my iPhone where I have lost all sound from everything. I've googled it but my problem seems a bit different. Where most people's problem is with the iPod thinking the headphones are plugged in, my won't even register. There is no sound from anything, it backs out when I try to play music, the Recorder won't register there is a microphone and won't play my recordings, no games have sound.

Is there an easy fix for this?

The headphone jack is probably broken. Does the speaker work? Have you tried other pairs of headphones?

No the speakers don't work either. There is absolutely no sound from my ipod. And when I change the volume, it says nothing about being in "headphone" mode or anything.

    3g sound

I have the same exact problem started about when you posted. At first if I would reset network settings it would continue to work for a day. Then I would notice the battery would drain at an accelerated pace and the sound would cut out.

Please let me know what solution you have found.

My iphone 3g is brand new just had the apple store replace it last month. However I'm out of the country for the next 3 months and have no way of getting it to an apple store.

I would appreciate any help or suggestions.
