I'm confused. I've beta tested a game, and don't really know what I should do. Do I contact the developer of the app or just download the beta and install it?

contact the developer to see if he has added ure UDID to his developer account. If he has and is willing to keep it like that, then you can DL the beta software on ure device, if not then dont or else you will make it useless

Thanks, I emailed the developer, and am now waiting for a response. I'll post the result for people in the same situation as me, or people that are just curious later.

  4. Thanks danny
Thought it would get that now it just needs to add ability to search app based on name of app instead of only name of file of the app then we're all good.
I plan on having that one set 24/7/365.

Uhm, look at post #35. That's how I do it, and I said it works

I'm not a developer. But I'm a beta tester, and since my UDID is on devs accounts, I had no problems at all installing 3.0

Umm I think they are separate. The provisioning files are just for having that app on your device.

The UDID is on a higher level and separate. You can have your UDID on a devs account without a provisioning file. But you can't have a provisioning file without your UDID on a devs account though.

Although I have like 17 provisioning files on my phone :p

Know a dev, become a dev, pay a dev, be a beta tester.

Ok well you have to ask them to add you, or hope your UDID is still on their account and you are fine.

Why don't you ask the developer you're allegedly getting 3.0 from these questions? Everyone is handling how they're giving out beta access differently.

I just told you how to get it on their account. You have to ask them or be a beta tester since they have to add you.

No, devs aren't legally allowed to hand out the beta AT ALL.

long process, head over to macrumors there are a lot of threads on this

For the last effing time, IF u add the UDID by ASKING by developer, then u wont get any trouble.
If you download the beta on device without having your UDID on an account, then your device will stop working

enough torrent site have beta versions

I highly suggest that if you arent sure of this or dont know how to troubleshoot and play around with your phone, then please dont download betas

It is, when your device is being activated.

Once it's activated it will go back to normal, but if not activated, it will stay purple.
