I have a iPhone 2g out of warranty with a broken home button. It works, but you have to push really hard. It seems like it is on its way out.

Now, should I DIY a new button, or could it be the ribbon cable? I already have the black back piece off the phone, and I've watch the video. Seems pretty difficult to open it up and replace parts.

Should I send it in for repair? Any idea of the cost? Anyone recommend either of these services (or another not mentioned)

Thanks for any info or advice!
