At what point did the iPad market become big or small? I didn't know you could all see into the future!

Totaly agree that the person playing nova had no idea wat he was doing. Which is quiet sad that he gets a shot n has no clue. Meanwhile i have to watch... :(

At the same point you called yourself a reviewer. Both ideas are highly subjective.

Sorry IMO the IPad is rated (EF) for an epic failure.
#1 a multimedia device that doesn't do widescreen vidz.
#2. No usb port with out a dongle, IE another $50-$60 dollars at best.
I have a Desktop, I have a laptop, I have an Iphone 3g & even an Ipod touch. I just don't see how this fits into my life or for that matter the average consumer. If anything I think they marketed this whole thing backwards. They first should have came out with the Ipad & then scaled down to the Iphone/touch. The whole reason the Iphone makes sence is its essentially a laptop that fits in your pocket. Why do I need a bigger version that may or may not fit into my briefcase. Unless you what to cry out to the world and say look at me and my shiney new toy, I say pass on this one at least untill Gen2 if and when they tweak it up a bit.

games like touchgrind would be heaps good on the ipad if they didnt make the game itself bigger.. i didnt like touchgrind cos you had no idea where you were going but on the ipad you could totally have the same, tech deck sized board on a larger playing area, by zooming out games like minigore could show all furries and upgrades without a radar, wheres wally could show a whole book page, doodle jump could go super huge, pocket god could have larger islands etc plus the processing power allows for intensifying gaming like more furries and more complex enemies in minigore, better AI and more advanced emulators or something, and imagine littlebigplanet on this! id be in heaven if tht came out, making levels would be <3

Well, whoever said games wouldn't work on the iPhone when it first came out were idiots b/c games had been on cell phones and PDAs for a long time. (If anything, they probably should've thought they'd work better by losing the numbered keypad as a sufficient "controller" in lieu of a touchscreen which would make controlling games a lot easier.)

Still, I'm not sure I agree with the fact that N.O.V.A. and Modern Combat: Sandstorm are, and I quote, "better than some console games"... I mean those games are awesome but I don't know if it's adequate or fair to compare handheld/mobile games to console ones. Just my opinion. No need to flame b/c I respect your opinion as well. :)

I want to know how regular apps will look in full screen or 2x mode. Also if you will be limited in the number of apps you can have on this thing. (it drives me crazy to only have 11 pages or 13 pages or whatever and then to have to delete apps to add new ones)

you can get around that. take the sound app.. put it in the very last postion. now download a app to make sure you haev zero open slots.. now take a app from the second page.. and put it in the place of the sound app. the sound app will go into space.. now go ahead and download another app and you will get a new screen to add apps..

here is the thread on it.

Just curious, but how did you order one? There doesn't seem to be a buy option on the Apple website yet.

I'm thinking CivRev would be much easier to play on the iPad than my iPhone.

I don't think it's possible, or the controls would be a bloody disaster to say the least.

You only have 2 thumbs that can touch the screen at once (without having to basically cradle the iPad), unless of course you lay the pad down on your lap or a table. So the possibility of a game that requires a lot of multi-touch and tilt combination would be a severe pain in the arsenal.

This is a device more for casual gaming like doodle jump and other simple yet fun tilt or touch games. I can see RTS and board/card games working extremely well with this. In fact I imagine it would be extremely fun.

It would be cool if you could get gaming accessories like a wireless/bluetooth gaming controller. Then console games would work well, especially with touch controls to manage your inventory, check maps, or for mini-games within a bigger game, but unless a physical controller is released, I say leave console gaming to the consoles.
