Sold my personal iPad 2 32gb yesterday. Got 350 euro for it. Not too bad. iPad 4, 64gb shall be instantly ordered.
I'm really amazed they have killed the iPad 3 so quickly and yet the iPad 2 is still kicking, worrying development as Apple don't have a good record of supporting anything that isn't currently selling. iPad mini was pretty much what I expected but a surprisingly low res screen I think the new touch is looking like a better choice after today.
I was pretty interested to see what would happen with the mini. I wouldn't call it a disappoint, but it seems they mean to limit in terms of specs a year or two behind the current ipad. While a great entry device for some people, it seems it will be as crippled as the ipod touch 4g in the next years or so in terms of gaming. Unless we see strong proof otherwise, the Ipad mini now just does not seem like a good investment at the price if you want to use it for gaming .
Wow I am flabbergasted after watching the keynote live - so glad they streamed it this time. I am seriously shocked that I am impressed for once by a keynote. Getting the iPad mini for sure. Won't bother with the 4th gen iPad..not much seems to have changed with that..they hardly even spoke about it.. Must just be a slight upgrade for the new charging port so all their products are universal. I'll keep my iPad too for now, not too fussed on retina display, nor faster as my iPad 2 is already fast enough for the games I play which are mainly just puzzle games. Can't wait to get my filthy mittens on iPad mini though.. So glad it's the same resolution so all the games will already work on it.. Seems to be an exact model of an iPad 2 just smaller and with retina display.. Will be able to sync my library straight onto the mini.. Seems pretty perfect.. And for $329 bucks why not! But ill probably only use it to take out with me so I can stop having to take my big handbag out to carry my iPad. If it was $350 or $399 I wouldn't bother upgrading .. But 329 is like cheap as chippzz! Casino chips though, not potato chips unfortunately. The iMac being thin is also pretty sexy. And the smaller MacBook looks nice being thin.. I'm assuming they'll upgrade the bigger models next keynote.. So I'll probably upgrade when that happens.. I think they'll be merging the air and the pro into one.. But until then, just an iPad mini for me good sir!
Going from an a5x to the a6x is as big an upgrade (excluding ram) as the iPhone 4S going to a6 for the 5, i.e. pretty massive. There is a massive performance difference between 4s and 5, expect the same difference here. Plus there'll be no iPad 5 in march so the a6/a6x is here for the long haul.
Can't keep up with the info, really busy -- when is the mini available? It's a better choice than the new iPod right? That's outrageous. $55, thats my final offer. Jk Can't do it though
lol, as usual we get ripped off in the UK. Prices for the iPad mini in the UK: 16GB wifi - £269 / $429 ($100 more) 32GB wifi - £349 / $556 ($127 more) 64GB wifi - £429 / $683 ($153 more)
Preorder is on Friday (Oct. 26th) and is available in store on November 2nd. And.. it depends for what. For gaming, I think I'd go for the iPod Touch. The iPad Mini is sporting the old iPad 2 specs, so it's not that impressive, IMO.
They are the similar specs as far as gaming is concerned. The question you should ask yourself is do you also want something that will fit in your pocket and for use as a music player, because then the choice is obvious: iPod touch.
yep, it's not retina, although the pixels per inch is higher than the iPad 2, so it will look better than the iPad 2. Albeit smaller.
